@@Ghost-tx9qk the Russians are fighting another military, the U.S was fighting enemies that would blend in with the civilian population and use suicide bombers....the war in Iraq was unwinnable, what's russia's excuse for being beat back

@@jamesnoonan2009 Not defending them. But it's basically the same. We see videos of Ukrainian civilians walking past Russian soldiers indicating they are fighting the same style of combat. Even if Ukrainian people don't use suicide bombs the principle of militia fighting is the same.

I'm not a huge fan of the increased emphasis on indirect fire that the mod leads to. But that's just my preference, but something to think about tweaking. Also, this video even demonstrates the key problem of fortifying FOBs - it's out in the open, on high ground, so should "theoretically" be easy to defend (that's what you wanted from the superfob, right?) Yet infantry is still getting up to the outside walls. I dare say, that you might even have a better time defending the FOB without all the walls and pillboxes.

I think fobbing is where Squad is at some of it's best. Using every resource and gameplay mechanic at once to constantly build and defend a changing position thats unpredictable and could pop up anywhere on the map due to dynamic gameplay choices.

Playing Squad back in the backer days the absolute fortress the FOBs became was always a fun and chaotic meatgrinder experience. I'm glad we can experience it both ways now.

Super FOB still works in Vanilla you just need an indoor space for the radio and HAB anything else can be rebuilt. Of course MG and tow need clear line of sight which means outside but it's worth the investment considering how infrequent artillery is. You just need good organisation and logistics and support from armour if the map has armour plus it serves as a decent repair point for your own armour.

Hey can someone tell me does squad tend to run better than liberation server? I got arma 3 specifically to join liberation and I just can get it to run smoothly enough to play. arma 3 campaign runs fine. Would my pc be better off trying to run this?

I would do a line of mortar tubes like 10 of them in a row and let them sing and move hit area by a degree and send one after another where they can't move or send mortars back but team work is key

I wish the base game encouraged more fob building. Cheaper to make sand bags, hesco etc and maybe change to arty where it doesn’t do damage to non functional buildings like sandbags and hesco.

Lag isn't much of an issue on squad. I play on na all the time with 130-150ish ping and can play just fine as the game is much more slow paced than normal shooters

Not enough SLs spend time even bothering to fortify when i play, like come on guys, building cover is NOT that hard.

Fortifying a fob (in vanilla) is generally a waste of time. You need to create space to prevent your HAB being overrun. Sitting in cover does the opposite - it gives up space to the enemy and causes your HAB to become overrun, your teammates can't spawn and then you lose the position. It's better _NOT_ to build fortifications to save time, and discourage blueberries from sitting back "defending the HAB" which is a tactic with very little utility (in vanilla). I don't even want to say this mod fixes it because it's not broken. I think this mod encourages a far greater emphasis on mortars, which I think sucks just as much as others may think not building superfobs sucks. It's just a matter of preference.

SuperFOBs completely ruined the game. I can't play Squad because the community is utter dogshit and every match plays out the same with half the map being forsaken for "muh SuperFOB" that gets deleted in two seconds because every kid that's ever watched a Karmakut video hops on and either team kills or "muh SUPERFOB"
