Return To CSX's Oldest Active Tipple! Fast Load Tipple In Action! B&O Heritage Chase Across The CV!

In today's adventure, we visit NRG once again with CSX 1827, the Baltimore & Ohio Heritage Unit! We see the NRG tipple In action as load out operator Bryan Lane does his magic, and we follow by a chase across the CV from NRG back to Corbin, catching R613 in 14 individual places! It is quite the chase, so buckle up and come along for the ride!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed making it! It was a great chase indeed!

another Great video Micah...looks like you all travel about 90+ miles. My wife and I really enjoy your videos and the info your provide in them. Especially, the various cities you name and also the drone footage. We are both in our late 60's and have just purchased a home in Central Florida last week. It is about 30 miles SE of Wildwood, FL and as we were out driving around last week, I see that there is a CSX yard there. So, I'll be wandering that way once we get moved in a few months. Leaving chilly Central Ohio and headed to Sunny Central Florida. May God continue to bless you and your endeavors and keep up the good photos & videos. Charlie & Louise in Central Ohio

Was the 2 engines that hooked to loaded train to pull it back the same 2 that brought the empties in?' How many DPU'S on end of train?

@@robertdean9392 Yep, they were the same two. No DPU’s, the engines just ran around the train and tied back on for the journey back north 🙂

Excellent Vid! Great hustle and shots. I noticed that there were (75) cars rated for 100 ton capacity, but the scale report was well over 8000 tons. What happens to the excess ..does csx just let that slide, or do they still hire a contractor to physically unload the excess? Enjoyed the trip down memory lane!

I watched it again and what I believe I heard was the M542 going over the job briefing with dispatch and relaying their length and tonnage of 8,069 tons but while the video footage was on the coal train. I didn’t hear anything specific about the scale tons. Am I correct or delusional? 😂

@@railfanmicahturner ok, the OCD in me caused me to revisit. The gross weight of this train would be approximately (10,257) Tons. 2 locomotives (432 tons), 75 empty aka tare steel cars (2,325 tons) resulting in a overall tare weight of 2,757 tons. 75 loaded cars' net contents at 100 tons (7,500 tons). So the 8k + tons discussed over the radio after train passed scales, would be net coal tons. This number is vital in order for a bill of lading invoice to be generated to the end buyer, both for the coal seller and shipper.
