That was such an underrated movie! This film deserved so much more credit … it was scary, it was fun, it was creepy it was just so everything !!

Yes it was definitely ahead of its time. Almost like a horror film for kids! Although in general kids films did seem to be more scary back then.

@@RetroReels it was scary! Traumatised me as a child! 😂😂

Definitely underrated. Our parents took us to see this on it's opening day at NYC's Radio City Music Hall and I don't think they knew what they were getting into.

I loved this movie,in 1985 I was 5, I thought it was spooky and I loved spooky movies as a kid. I haven’t seen this movie in probably 35 years and now It’s definitely going to be something I am going to introduce to my kids.

I'm amazed, the sheer ammount of EFFORT that went into this movie!

The plot isn't as clean as the Judy Garland original, but its still a really fun and imaginative story. Its still better than a lot of the movies we get today, there's quite a lot of heart behind the film.

Judy Garland wasn't the first Dorothy to appear on the screen

We had this documentary recorded on VHS. 😂 I was 6 when this came out. I watched it way more than the actual movie. Thank you for posting it!

Much preferred this to the original!

At least the film maker crew & the actor were treated well in this film. The 1939 film, despite the success, it was a hell of the job treatment in behind the scene 💀

Where where the filming locations
@kevinparker4612 ай бұрын
@@maxhammer4067 I was on the film from start to finish, the Farmhouse was just outside Salisbury & we filmed on an Army base in Tilshead. There were 2 units i think filming at the time & i was 2nd unit. I done the filming with Toto (Tansy) when she was asleep on Dorothys bed & when she followed the buggy when Dorothy went to the clinic. She sat down & howled, we got that in the can first time!!

This movie scared the living shite out of me as a child - but it’s so good! Never knew it was filmed in England. Salisbury Plain which is a short distance from my home and Elstree studios where I would go to watch live Big Brother evictions!

Is the film picks up where the original Wizard of Oz had ended ? When you mentioned about Judy Garland , this is the film where she got back from and this Dorothy returned in Oz .

This documentary has never been released since it appeared on TV back at the time of the release of the film - hope it appears on a Bluray in the future in better quality, but for now this is all we have unfortunately.

Of the movie or this documentary? I think the movie came out as part of the Disney Club range - it can be found on ebay, but is quite pricey. This documentary only aired at the time of the films release.
