I remember back when the game first released and it had tons of glitches I had ended up accidentally duplicating Skippy so when it came time to return him to Regina the game didn't account for it so I kept the original and ended up giving her the dupe, I still have him in my save game.

Skippy works without the smart link implant. I am a Sandy user and ran around doing the cyberpsycho missions with him. Fun Fact: when he asks you to choose a mode, selecting "Puppy Loving Pacifist" will actually make him permanently lock on Lethal mode later on.

They added it in recently. She calls you and offers to give him to you. It isn't Skippy anymore though. Just a gun with no personality.

You basically only have two choices in the quest: give it to her, or keep Skippy for yourself. You technically have a third choice, which is to tell Skippy that you'll return him and then never do, which keeps him content since the quest doesn't have a time limit, but deliberately choosing to keep Skippy for yourself and actually telling him this will lock him into a mode where he'll just yell "bad user!" over and over. Even if you get sick of his shit and stuff him in your stash, he'll yell at you from there too.

when does he de-activate himself? I swear I've got more than 50 kills on him (I always shoot when the reticle is red idc if they're on the ground) and he still works for me and talks. @@pyrioncelendil

@@groyperfuhr4871 If you mean when does his personality get reset? Only if you choose the quest option to return him to Regina Jones, and then you actually meet up with Regina and hand over the gun. Being his admin, she'll have him execute a personality reset (and V can optionally flip out over Regina having killed Skippy). If however you mean when does he change settings between stone-cold killer and puppy-loving pacifist? Five in-game days from the moment you've picked him up is the minimum amount of time (with a scripted check happening every in-game day later if you haven't gotten 50 kills yet) before he'll change the settings. Presuming you get past that point, another three in-game days have to then pass before he'll reveal that his former owner was Regina Jones and you'll get the decision point to either return him or keep him for yourself.

ah okay thanks for the info. I got the kills but yeah it takes forever for in game days to pass by. it felt like two IRL weeks for me to finally get the fast corpo car from that racing guy in claire's mission xD@@pyrioncelendil
