Welcome back! I think it's so cool that you knew what wasn't working about the process and were able to pull yourself back out of the vortex. Hopefully you can find your balance. I also have that all or nothing mentality and for content that often has me taking on way more than I can happily handle, as it were. Consider me inspired. IMO you were providing value. It wasn't in the form of 50 books read per month, but it didn't have to be. I just enjoyed seeing your journey through what you decided to pick up at whatever pace was manageable.

I'm very interested in reading those James Islington books. I recently got out of a reading slump with The Road which I enjoyed. I also read my first Stephen King book, 11/22/63 and absolutely loved it and now I'm reading Billy Summers, which is turning out great! Hope everything gets better with your parents 🙏

Read-a-thons are also a fav of mine. I've never run a Patreon or Discord, and I can imagine that'd be stressful as hell. Hope you keep making videos you love.

Welcome back! I honestly kind of prefer when people read fewer books and talk about them more deeply. Those with big lists of things they've read are more likely to mention something that I can leave a comment saying "hey, I read that too" or something, but as someone who does not read at that pace I connect with smaller wrap ups and more detailed discussions a bit more.

Earlier this year I read 'The Will of the Many' and I really loved it. As a result I continued with 'The Licanius Trilogy' and that's how I found your channel (looking for reviews of the books, I am curious to see other people's opinions). I was a bit disappointed to see we don't have a conclusion to the series and that you took a break, but I found you on Goodreads and befriended you. These days I noticed you're reading 'The Will of the Many' and was happy that most likely I'll get a written review. But now seeing you're back on YT I actually hope for a video once you finish it :D Welcome back!

I'm just a viewer and occasional commenter but it's one of the reasons why I moved away from a lot of SFFtube barring Mike's Book Reviews which I just find fun to watch. I'm sorry your parents had that fall, sad to hear your mom is still struggling. Falls are the worst as one grows older, its so traumatic. I have elderly parents too and the one thing the doctor cautioned them against was a fall. It makes sense that a big part of your mental energy is there, spending time and just being around for them, much respect 😊🙏🏽. Wishing them good health and wishing you strength.
