Reunited: Walter Röhrl and the 924 Carrera GTS

Four decades after the 1981 rally season in which Walter Röhrl raced a 924 Carrera GTS, the Porsche Heritage and Museum department surprised the two-time World Champion with the newly restored car. See his reaction to receiving the car as it transports him instantly 40 years back in time.

My first Porsche was a 944 early 85. I now have several Porsches, but that car will always have a special place in my heart. Great story guys!

Was ein schöner Beitrag. Höchsten Respekt and die ganzen Kollegen die den Wagen so aufbereitet haben. Genau perfekt und nicht überrestauriert. Die Kombination mit Herr Kussmaul und Herr Röhrl ist natürlich die Krönung zusammen mit dem Wagen. Absoluter Transaxle-Traum.

Big thanks to Porsche for inspiring me to greatness... Porsche and Earnie at Mantis Racing opened my eyes to the pure reality of what Porsche is, Perfection at its purest. I try and live my life with an eye on the small but most important things, something I feel Ferdinand Porsche did as well.... My eternal gratitude to Porsche and Earnie Jackabowski.. den Walter setzt du nach 40 Jahren in das Auto und er weiß noch immer exakt, wie das Auto funktioniert, der würde damit wohl heute noch gegen vergleichbare Autos gewinnen.....

Eigentlich ein wirklich interessantes Video. Nicht sonderlich gut produziert und die Musik ist äußerst nervig und die meiste Zeit unangebracht, aber ein guter Anfang.
