!! FAIR USE !!
Fair use is a legal doctrine that says use of copyright-protected material under certain circumstances is allowed without permission from the copyright holder.
In the United States, works of commentary, criticism, research, teaching, or news reporting may be considered fair use.
The use of copyright-protected material in this video and my other videos using material from Community (2009) Sony Pictures Television is transformative. I add commentary, use short clips and add meaning to the original material. I do not use copyright-protected material for commercial uses, nor do I monetize my videos.
The length of clips used are all short enough to pass KZfaq's automatic checks and allow for the use of copyright-protected content, which the rightful copyright owner allows to be used on KZfaq.
This video was previously fasley claimed by a group/organiation that does not own this content. They have removed my video and my counter notifcation as unsuccessful. 1,000+ comments are lost. I can see that the video got up to 720,045 views and 26,410 likes. But now it's gone.

I actually really like how Abed is always considered the likeable one. Like how when foguring out who the new pierce is they decided abed is completely off the table immediately because everyone likes him too much. I never felt like it was punching down, just an autisitc guy written like a real autisitc person who has people around him who love him. The times his autism causes conflict the answer if often that they're has to be a middle ground between who he is and how best he can communicate with other people around him. Its never Abed needs to stop being weird. And thats pretty realistic to how you actually have to resolve conflict with neurodiversity irl

I like that strangers seem to dislike him, because that’s often the case. Before they get to know an autistic person people see us as weird, annoying, and awkward, and nothing more, but when there are people who take the time to know you they actually like you because they can see your actual personality and not just your disorder

Fuckin' love Abed. What a juxtaposition from, say, Sheldon from Big Bang Theory, who is constantly just annoying, selfish, and immature, written where even his best friend mostly just tolerates him. Abed can come off as selfish or childish, but it just feels sincere and endearing, and often makes the "normal people" look more immature.

Ngl, I hate Sheldon cooper. Not as a lack of sympathy or understanding, but for the fact that the way he’s written, it’s like he’s constantly let off the hook or absolved of his behavior. I know Neurodivergent people are not monsters that lack empathy and they actually need more care growing up. I have A.D.D. Which some would call me Neurodivergent as well. My point is that, when a character with autism or neurodivergent is written to be annoying or hated, they’re really hated, if that’s what the writers were going for.

Sheldon feels kind of like he's got a shit ton of OCD mixed in with the autism(a comorbidity I'm well acquainted with). He seems pretty well adjusted considering he was brought up in a nightmarishly religious family, has no particularly self destructive habits(at least as far as he's aware), has skills that people will pay for(so he's never been marginalized by lack of wealth), and is somewhat childlike in most of his interactions. He seems quite a bit like I was when I was younger, with 40 or so IQ stacked on top. He's easy to feel for, if you've come from a similar background. The vast majority of people haven't, so some suspension of disbelief may be in order.

i appreciate that they really nail how abed isn't actually worse at social cues, he just had to learn them differently and his methods aren't perfect. what might come through conversation to most people is better observed to him on tv, and to get a decent sense of realistic social cues through tv he would need an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of it. he struggles when thinks differ from tv tropes because those are things tv couldn't teach him, in particular when there's a lull in the 'story' that makes him restless and agitated because he really doesn't know what to when real life doesn't follow his own rules, which is something that also is only shown in the later seasons when he's acclimated to his new friend group and social lifestyle and doesn't spend so much time alone watching tv. when troy moves in with him and again when annie moves in with him you can really see him adapting his safe space to include the friends he loves so much and that's just so sweet

30:57 as someone who is both autistic and the 'therapist friend' this clip.... holy hell. I always get nervous talking to other people about my special interests since they may find me weird or automatically assume that I'm toxic with what fandoms I join. It sucks. And the amount of people I've tried to connect with through special interests only for them to not understand, that hurts. So I try to connect through other ways, specifically, emotions. I listen to *their* interests, I listen to *their* feelings, I listen to stuff that has happened in *their* lives. Never mine. It's started to become such a bad habit that I put people above me. I would do anything for my friends, and they would do anything for me. But when I cry in front of them, I close up. I don't wanna make them worried, but most importantly, I don't wanna open up cause I'm so used to shutting in on myself, because I'm used to it.

@DaCoolCheese22 no idea why you decided to argue with a totally innocuous comment expressing my thanks to the video creator, but alright💀 i don't know if you're ND or not, but just because certain behaviors can occur in NT as well or don't occur for every ND person doesn't mean they can't be more intense or frequent with ND brains. on top of that, nowhere did i say that "binging shows quickly" is the only requirement for neurodivergence as your comment seems to imply. it's merely a result of mine. 6 seasons in a matter of days is, as one can imagine, very time consuming, and if i possessed more control over my hyperfixations/hyperfocus sessions, i would've 100% chosen to do my homework on time. or eat. or study. or sleep more. but I didn't because i couldn't think about anything else. that's not being able to choose what you focus on and at what time. a textbook adhd symptom. i'm guessing that you somehow didn't know that or didn't pick up on the fact that that's what was meant by my comment so i hope this clears things up. this is not to say that i didn't enjoy my watch. i did! it was great; i got a lot of joy from it! but getting so hung up on it reordered my life in ways i wasn't prepared for and i had to rush to pick up the slack afterwards. sorry for the wall of text, just wanted to explain my POV. your comment came off as accusatory to me so i felt the need to defend my reasoning, but i'm not genuinely angry or anything. have a nice day

I love Abed. And I love Danny Pudi. His portrayal is so heartfelt and I know he was nervous about offending people with the part, but I think he did a great job and I think Dan Harmon did a great job writing for him.

This is amazing!! Also it made me notice how many times Abed references being (half) Palestinian... And his cousin visiting from the Gaza strip... Idk it makes me sad to think about. There are real people out there right now suffering because of this genocide. I wonder if they will reference anything about it in the movie... Anyway, I just think it's really nice that they added that specific representation.

@@MojaveMoron upon googling it, I found this: I think it is a replacement term for people with ADHD, since that name doesn't explain it completely and has misconceptions, the latin root "am" means movement. It is similar to the labels Kinetic (seen on twitter) and DAVE (created by a user on TikTok, I don't remember the full acronym, sorry). The Amistic label was coined on tumblr by a user who I think is now deactivated, but links to the original post can be found (first thing when you google). hope I was respectful and the explanation helped!
