Leyline of Anticipation (or any other flash enabler) does allow you to cast Jace "early". He has the same text as Serra Avenger and that has the ruling: "You can cast Serra Avenger during another player’s first, second, or third turns of the game if some other effect (such as Vedalken Orrery) enables that."

A little note on spree cards: you have to choose at least one mode, so they can't be like 1 mana do nothing.

Wall of Roots gives -0/-1 counters on itself, not -1/-1. So you can't make it a negative power creature for Collector's Cage.

Claim Jumper (the 2W Rabbit Mercenary) has maybe some potential as a ramp spell for Lotus Field decks, maybe more Pioneer than Modern, but 3/3 Vigilance on top of fetching 2 duals or triomes to play seems nice.

Interestingly with Fblthp you can just stack up a bunch of spells to cast for free on a later turn, might enable some kind of Storm shenanigans and the likes.

doc aurlock comboes well with eternal scourge and misthollow griffin (creatures you can cast from exile) if only there was a modern legal food chain type card

Fomori vault also doesnt seem awful to try in the asmo food shells as just an additional good utility land to have with urzas sagas. turning an ovalchase into an impulse when youve got a pair of cook books going doesnt seem bad at all. Maybe its to niche but i feel like trying a copy cant possibly hurt the deck and stands to potentially help close out games.

Aren't Adventures cast from exile? But I am not sure about Adventures in Modern. However 4/3 Bonecrusher for 1 red sounds kinda lit.

Kellen joins up + Norin puts you into omnath colours and Kellen would give you a free risen reef +omnath on turn 4. I don't play modern so probably not good enough but it is interesting to me

We are talking about Jace, whicih requires valki in the graveyard and layline of anticipation...kellen joins up is a turn 3 no setup valki plot from hand.

i think pillage is worse than nights whisper/profane tutor in most cases, esp since those decks run sheoldred. is there any b/g combos that would want to see twice? maybe a dryad or loam deck

Harvester of Misery doesn't kill Voidwalker when it comes back with Living End in the way you described because Harvester will get exiled when you discard it to kill the Voidwalker the first time

@@GamerdevilPro that actually might be something. I know "being broken with underworld breach" isn't a high bar, but grinding station + breach is already good, and Aurlock + Breach can maybe be good so that could be nice redundancy?

What if you combined the legion extruder and the Magda deck? They seem to both be missing playables, and want to do sort of the same thing. So maybe together you could have a pretty cool treasure sacrifice deck with legion extruder for late game.

I've been thinking of trying to do some kind of jeskai trinket deck. Play Inspector, Epicure, and Spyglass, then start pumping out an army with the extruders. Probably more a pioneer or standard strategy than modern, but it seems like it has potential.

NGL, my brain never went beyond "oh random Yuriko upgrade" when I looked at Satoru. Also not sure about slinging some Ornithopter in modern just for this guy and not sure if he a) revives affinity or is worth the color requirements. Not so sure as Spike that he is finding his home, but certainly more to him then I thought. Clearly not the best card in the set tho, nothing will beat out Slickshow Show-off. That thing is on an entire diffrent level imho

Elementals, ninjas, free artifacts, force of x, pacts and traps, reanimates, sneak and show, tooth and nail. Not all of those are great obviously, but it's surprisingly broad.

Spinewood armadillo can get scavenger ground to exile an opponent’s yard before you living end. Does it make the deck good probably not but cool addition

Colossal Rattlewurm can fetch a bounceland (Arid Archway) at instant speed, if you ever wanted to do that for some reason. Maybe there's some Spelunking nonsense you can do.

Okay hear me out. Jace in an ancestral vision casade deck. Jace can plot ancestral vision for that sweet card advantage and it can prevent it from getting stuck in hand. and you can cascade into Jace on turn three too. Maybe throw Satoru in there since both Jace and Shardless agent will let Satoru draw a card on etb.

I dont think you can cascade into Jace. Cascade does not put things into play, it CASTS those and Jace says that aint happening before turn 4. With old instant speed cascade that would have been possible, but thx god we are done with that in modern.

Just checked a ruling for Serra Avenger since it and Jace share the same casting restriction. It indeed says you can cast during your OPPONENTS first, second, and third turns. So Leyline into turn 2 Jace on oppo. turn works
