When I was like 11 I went to the Rainforest Café with my family and because it’s rainforest themed or something you’re allowed to order a banana as a side dish, and I did. I hate ripe bananas. The texture is too mushy for me and if there’s even a spec of brown on the banana that is too much for me. I like to eat them when they’re green at the stem. The banana I received was pretty brown, but I ate it (hating it the whole time) anyway because I didn’t want to waste it/be ungrateful. The waitress came back and asked me how my banana was because they really “pride themselves on their fruit” because they’re the rainforest cafe and whatever. And I told her I loved it. And it haunted me that I lied to them. Years later (I’m 18 now) I told my girlfriend about this and how it still bothered me that I lied to the waitress so she CALLED the rainforest cafe at like 10 pm just to confess to the lady who answered the phone about what I had done. She thought it was so funny and she laughed so much and told her to have a good night. As embarrassed as I was to bother her it felt good to have confessed that I hated that damn banana.

I remember back when I was in 7th grade (I'm a sophomore now) and my ex and I were hanging out on my front porch. He wanted to makeout and I said sure. And then he wanted to French kiss me for the first time. I told him I was gonna brush my teeth, but I lied. I only went in the house to get a piece of gum, and cover my tongue with it (sort of how you do right before you blow a bubble) so that way I didn't have to feel his tongue. After it all happened he had to leave, so I took the gum out and threw it in the grass. My life is a lie, and that's the tea.
