Wonderful result. The chipping effect looks particularly good. Also, I just finished my Tamiya 1/48 Japanese Zero kit, for which your videos have been a huge help.

Fantastic job ,but i can't help thinking why Eduard didn't include wheel masks in their set ,would have been simpler, none the less ,brilliant job ,looking forward to the next one.

Thanks Mel. I am not sure if there was a wheel mask in the set or not. I do not usually use them, because I anyway have to go back with a brush and clean up. lol. Thanks again :)

Nice! How did you mask the black curved boot on the leading edge of the vertcal stabilizer? I have trouble getting clean curves..thanks

Weathering should only be done on parts that are used allot on an aircraft. (Panels that are opened and closed for maintenance, hinges, forward parts that are prone to bird strikes and other flying debri)

Hey Tony, where you order from depends on which part of the world you are in. However, the place I usually order hard to find stuff is hannants.co.uk. Only thing is that the mailing cost really hurts (they are in UK and I am in Singapore), so I wait till I have a few things in the basket and then order all of them in one go. I also order a lot from Hobby Link Japan, which has much cheaper mailing rates.

After wiping off the wash how long to you let the kit dry for before you clear?

After wiping the wash I wait for at least a couple of hours. The reason is that oil washes and paints take a long time to dry and there is a good chance of leaving a fingerprint on them, so best let it dry reasonably well before handling it.

Higer TheTiger27 in a way you are both right. They were actually called “Turbosuperchargers” during the War. It’s been shortened down to Turbocharger in the intervening years since.
