It actually took me a minute to realize that this wasn't just the original video with an acapella audio overlayed. This is what the music video feels like it it looked like as a kid and looking back on it now was a REAL shocker as to how much my nostalgia clouded my judgement for the early 2010's Minecraft music-video visuals. Although this is intended as an April Fools joke I still think this is awesome to see a remaster of the original video so many of us adored as kids. So thanks

@@Kringlord97 It's an oxymoron because if you count the accompaniment as being instrumental, it's no longer a capella (ie, without instrumental accompaniment), and yet the meaning is still conveyed so it's an interesting one. I will add that while the human voice is an instrument, instrumental is generally understood as meaning "without vocals". There's a reason the instrumental version of a song isn't just the original.

This is a phenomenon they mentioned in an interview about the graphics style for one of the more recent Dragonball games, where we have a tendency to sort of "update" the visuals of something in our memory, as we reconstruct it using elements we have internalized over the years - smoother framerate, greater focus on specific parts of the scene, better resolution. It's a combination of our emotional attachment to the memory with the things we just consider standard today. Memory is rarely perfect and more often a list of traits and feelings that your brain puts back together, so you don't remember the literal look of the scene where he's dancing, you remember "Captain Sparklez dancing in a house in front of a fireplace and singing" and your brain rebuilds it and is like "okay, this is what the animation would look like, this is what the colours and framing and textures would look like, this is what the lighting would be and... he's dancing and singing so there's a spotlight on him, right?" And the same goes for Steve's hair and the fight animation, and everything. It's part of why nostalgia has such a big hold on people.
