Today we'll look at a simple circuit that is used to reverse the direction of a DC motor using relays. You can use any style relay you'd like, such as PCB mount, so long as they're SPDT, but in this case the automotive style works out the best.
We'll start off with a quick lesson on relays; what they do and how they work, then check out the circuit schematic and lastly build the circuit and make a motor move!
Although I'm sure there's an electronic circuit out there that can accomplish this (future video maybe?) but it's difficult to match the simplicity, robustness, and reparability of the mechanical approach.
