That is brilliant, I love the griddle idea, it would be nice for reverse searing steaks or burgers the list goes on, beautiful

I like that design you have going on with that one. Would love to have a charcoal basket for grilling too. You selling that design too? How much man? Thanks.

Love the griddle Allen, a lot of the big names are doing it now, so you can reverse sear your steak, or sear and smoke. You could beat them all to the punch with a grease tube down the back and a valve with a small bucket hanging. I have not seen a grease tube, sure would be nice for clean up, there is no question you have the ability to pull it off, love the new look.

Have anybody realized how solid Allen's creations are? I would gladly pay the same outrageous amount I have to by buying a flimsy barbecue from any hardware store. Greetings from Toronto

Love that smoker man, shop is looking great too! Being able to spread out in the shop and have room to work is nice!

Just love your stuff! I have learned so much from your videos... I would not have had the successful addition of a new firebox to a 50+ year old pit without your videos. Keep 'em coming!

You do a great job. It is so enjoyable building things out of metal. And good clean metal welds so good. A mig is the way to go. Welded years with stick, that's why they call it stick.

Hey Allen, I build pits as well. Happy to see someone else working on pits. I do sell them, I haven't built 1 for my personal use. I just finished my 1st reverse flow, paint is going on today.

When you build yourself one then you can use it to help build your others, keep changing it until you have it like you want it. I’ve done with several smokers. Where are you at?

I built a 60" x 30" RF for a guy at the start of summer and I ended up putting a 24"x 32" griddle on the FB. He loves the griddle because it's easy for him to throw something on it for his lunch when he is at a BBQ comp or doing catering somewhere.

Wow Sir! I really love your work. I am in South Africa and I would love to build similar products. I am sure that the popularity will kick off here too. I have been building off set smokers from second hand water tanks.

if you put on a 1" spout for the drain with a tiny shelf a few inches below, you can hook a tomato can or beer can under the spout to catch the fat/cleanup runoff. No galv pipe on the side of the firebox that will get clogged by bacon fragments and lost onion rings.
@Allensweldingwoodworking Жыл бұрын
It has a grease bucket on the bottom, I think I mentioned that the drain may be to small also, and it is. It will have at least a 3/4”-1” next time

Nice smokers man 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸 👍Now that you have a concrete floor to kneel Down on You might already know but harbor freight has Roller magnets to clean a area quick so you dont have to worry get metal splinters in your knees. My friend got a bad infection from them.😎

I like the evolution of that smoker design. Does the added height of the cook chamber help even out the hot spot on the cooking grate near the firebox?
@marcanthony99632 жыл бұрын
Nice build Allen... Real nice. Been wondering for awhile... Would a 24" 1/4" steel pipe smoker version be more reasonably price and save you time? Compared to the style you been doin? Excellent work brother.
@billwoehl3051 Жыл бұрын
On next one, for the mill scale on the griddle, a dunk overnight or so should remove it, and a little thicker steel, like an inch thick would cook MUCH better.

Nice work Allen, can you tell me how to figure out the size of the throat from the fire box to the cooking chamber? I tried using that web site calculator, but I can't figure it out,,, any help would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos

Man you are awesome. What kind of welder are you using? 110 power or 220?

I like the addition of the griddle, I wonder if there is room to drill thru the end of the grease groove and bottom of the fire box then run your grease tube thru the corner of the fire box and out the bottom?
@duanehenicke66022 жыл бұрын
Better yet. Let the tube drip into the fire. Free fuel and great flavor.

I don't understand what is going on with the grease trap,grease will not stay warm enough to completely drain without eventually clogging the pipe.
