From one truck driver to another, you take up whatever position you consider is best at the time and take as long as needed to complete the manoeuvre safely which is exactly what you did, thanks for posting.

Never rush to please others, take your time, as long as it takes and as many shunts, get out etc. As long as you achieve the end result without hitting anything, you've done it.

The way I see it It doesn’t matter how many times you have to shunt, ALWAYS get out and look if in ANY doubt whatsoever !!! DONT risk it!!! The NUMBER 1 objective is DO NOT hit anything. Sod what others think of you, shunt as many times as you like. If I’m reversing in between trailers I ALWAYS get out and physically look on my passenger side (blind side) as once that trailer starts turning it’s all guess work!!! not worth it, too much confidence is a BAD thing trust me, I’ve been there. Yes be confident (although hard at times) but ALWAYS be weary and cautious Aswel because if you hit anything you will be in a world of shit!!!! if in doubt get out and look or ask someone to back you up. I work around Heathrow where it is VERY tight !!!! I’ve experienced on MANY occasions when I’m reversing other idiot drivers revving their engines getting impatient with me whilst I’m struggling to get on a bay and other drivers basically standing there taking the piss outta me when I’m finding it hard to back into a space, FUCKEM!!!! they was in my position once

I figured there are two types of seasoned lorry drivers. There are those who want to help others by giving a hand, offering some good advice, and generally welcoming new drivers into the job. Then there are those who try to discourage you, criticise, and take the piss because you're never gonna be as good as them. I am only just training at the mo but once the real chaos starts for me I'll keep in mind what you're saying to give me peace of mind that I'm not the only one struggling that day. Just watching this video is a reminder that you are committed and trusted to get on that bay. Nice to see the yard been cleared!! Bet it's shit in the rain or dark.

Main thing I learned when I started was do not oversteer.. after 43 years I still use that rule. watch your back wheels & not the trailer so much. The wheels give you a true position.. But don't forget to keep an eye on your font fenders..

Yes that's the production site. It's worse since this video as they've erected a fence the full length of the yard and you have less space to move about now.

Is said just having a practice reverse, wrong bing to say as he hammered me saying DO NOT practice here and threatening to have me banned if he sees it again, I said have some compassion as you were like me once, typical old driver didn’t want to listen just shouting crap at me

What was that all about? A simple reversing movement made hard. For a start off why drive into a cramped little corner when ther is the whole yard to position yourself in? The only thing i would give good marks for is the way it was managed while aiming a camera while steering....... very professional, full control of a forty four tonner at all times......
@tyler41647 жыл бұрын
from 1 truck driver to another. you made that look harder then it was. why did you start the reverse where you did. oh & there was nothing tight about that. you had enough room to park a jumbo jet. congrats on not hitting anything
