I’m a Malay Muslim and what he says is true, we rarely give da’wah to our fellow Malaysians. I’ll take this as an improvement on my end to at least look for ways to converse about the deen with a fellow Malaysian.

Assalamualaikum, I am a Malay in Malaysian, and a practicing Muslim now. It is true that Malay dont do much dakwah. However, it is not because we think it is a Malay religion. We mostly dont do dakwah because we were not raised to think that we have the responsibility to spread the Deen. We think that it is only the job of an ustaz, ustazah and ulama'. Of course this is wrong, but this is how we were raised. Moreover, post colonisation, a lot of Malay Muslims have reduced knowledge in Islam. Because colonisation has made our country secular, thus separating Islam from our lives. Many are only Muslim in name, not really practicing. Thus we ourselves dont understand our religion. And everyone is looking to the west, trying to be more westernised. I was one of the people who were brought up in this culture too. But Alhamdulillah Allah gave me hidayah, and I learnt Islam properly, and I started fully practicing, that is how i start to understand Islam and start to do dakwah in my own capacity. I didnt do any dakwah until i was given the hidayah to practice and i gained knowledge about Islam. I never think, and the people around me, never think that it is a religion exclusive to us, but it is just that we are not brought up in a true islamic culture and thus have failed to understand Islam ourselves

It's not that the malays did not do da'wah, it just that the way of the old genaration doing da'wah are thru their good behaviors( akhlak), not like other country where their da'wah are more vocal like discussion, debate and alike. Many non muslim in malaysia who converted to islam before millenium or before internet era, are because the good akhlak they see in muslim. Da'wah have many ways, malays are known as soft hearted, kind and very family oriented. The good behavior itself are da'wah.

Actually Malay has a very high degree of tolerance... Tolerance level dewa. They respect other religions cause they accepted Malaysia is unique in terms of multi racial. Religion and King is a sensitive issue.

What Ridzuan Ong said about Malaysia is quite true. The chinese community prefer to be in their own group with their own set of believe whether about education, life or religion and so do the malays, tamil and others. Mingling with other races only happen after secondary school and a bit culture shock for some of us. Hopefully through Ridzuan Ong as a dai who gains more knowledge from the perkim and not only from youtube can brought more chinese Malaysian to embrace Islam. Eventhough he seems not fluent in English but through concerted effort, i personally believe he could go far whether he conveys his islamic message in mandarin or english. Never give up! Stick to what you believe! Chaiyo!

The best way to do dakwah is to be at the best Muslim akhlak. This is what life is all about. People will feel safe, secure and respect….Insyaallah.

We Malay do have the intention to dakwah our non-Muslim friends but the racist issue is a bit sensitive. To non-Muslim, to be Muslim is to be Malay and need to change their life to be like the Malays. So we Malay dare not to touch the sensitive issue that makes the parents hate the son or daughter that converted to Islam. See how he grown up, he has no Malay friend till he is 18 years old. What we as Muslim should do? That is why we Malay disagree with any vernacular school as it will sub divided all races and religions. As Muslim we want all our friends to go to jannah together, but the feedback from our non-Muslim friend could be hush and we will be no longer friend after that. Honestly speaking, everytime I see chinese especially the elder, I was thinking "How can I do dakwah to them?" Its pretty sad to think if they died without Islam in their heart, and we are muslim surround them would be guilty..😢

Please understand the gentle and soft-hearted soft spoken nature of the malays in malaysia. Their merciful and compassionate nature. That is why islam spread so fast in the peninsular because our ancestors liked the message spread by the muslim traders from india and arab. However, others often view us as being too soft, weak and stupid for being kind and forgiving. But, isnt that the qualities that our prophet wanted to instil in all Muslims? I often discussed this with my non-malay friends. I ask them: "when you've made mistakes, who would you rather face. A hard-hearted calculating vengeful person or a merciful and compassionate one?" Its this very nature that allowed the races here to leave in peace and to foster understanding and forgiving climate.

To brother Ridzuan Ong, thank you for doing such an important thing at such an amazing level. I always admire the intelligence and diligence of the Chinese people in Malaysia. It makes me very aesthetic to know that such qualities are now being used in the path of Allah. There are so many racial cultural and political issues in Malaysia that the Islam as a religion becomes very unaccessible to Malaysian Chinese. By doing what you're doing you are actually solving two problems. One, now Islam can be more accessible to Malaysian Chinese and secondly now, there is a real and possible bridge between the Chinese and the Malay communities. To be honest I think personally Malays have a lot of things to do too to correct our Islamic values. Internally we are also not that proficient in the religion as not many of us grow up truly understanding the Quran and the hadith. Externally we have not truly understand the meaning of being a Muslim that puts aside any religious political and cultural differences. We need to improve as well. May Allah help us both to improve Islam in Malaysia and also globally and may Allah reward you with great rewards for doing what you're doing both for brother Ridzuan and LTTS.

Relation and segregation between Chinese and Malay is undescribable. I haven't seen people in the same country can be so separated. You literally feel like you are in different countries when you react with different groups. Many Chinese I met are so unimaginably racist towards Malay (and not necessary Muslims from other countries), and many Malays are just so indifferent or don't care, they just felt like they don't need to interact with Chinese anyway. This coming from a Thai, I was culture shocked there.

It's the same in Indonesia , even we have a law that ban preaching religions to others.* Muslims only allowed to preach Islam to muslims only *This law isn't taken seriously as we know many missionary activity in Indonesia . **I think we are still allowed to preach religions to people who are atheist or tribal people (who don't have official religions) mostly in remote areas

I'm taking the "they don't read Al-Qur'an, they read you" approach with this. But I do have extra Quran translations I should be giving to interested mad'u. It's how my dad taught me Islam too. He taught me to read, I read and obeyed the command of The Creator myself. So it never felt like a man telling me to do anything, I read the Quran verse about hijab then I obeyed The Creator. I guess I'm being narrow in my approach, favouring my personal experience.

But chinese in malaysia dont aware actually there is more muslims population in CHINA than malaysia.

I had actually questioned myself, why Malaysia, despite since Merdeka had been a majority Muslim nation, yet the conversion rate is slow. And I started to think that it must be that we the Malay that represent Islam were viewed negatively especially due to our financial and social status (being less succesfull financially) as compared to the Chinese..As time goes, I realises, even those non-Muslim which surrounded by other very succesful Malay people,didnt seem t be any different in their perspetive. Actually we Malays didnt really do GIVES dawah before..And I believes that this is due to the very FRAGILE social and political situation in Malaysia, which at that time still mostly are the 1st and 2nd generation since Independence. Religion and racial sensitivity is high before (as a result of British planned to keep us divided), and that it needed to be address first. Without trust within the society, any Direct Dawah will result in negative effect,hence the government and Malay Muslim decided to built the fix the trust first.This example is learned from the sunnah of Rasulullah during his early years. However, I have to admit, at the same time, Malays like me didnt really potrayed ourself as an exampelary Muslim. So without hearing and seeing any positivity in Muslim, plus the Islamophobia narrative from western media, the Non-Muslim in Malaysia will never be instrested to learn about Islam, let alone revert.. I really appreciate both of you, for this effort to spread Islam in Malaysia. My utmost respect you not only gives dawah to non-muslim, even for me as born Muslim learned so much from only this one interview.. May Allah blessed you, and all of us.

i think why some malay rarely give da,wah toward other race is because they fear it will offended the non muslim friend.

One must understand that even in Singapore, a multi cultural society like Malaysia, we cant go around preaching Islam like those street dawah guys from UK or States. We have a history of racial riots in these region. We want to stay secular because if we push the wrong buttons, this can create disharmony. BUT, i take it as we continue to do dawah by becoming better muslims ourselves. Not to mention that there are a lot of Muslims who are muslims by name or are so due to cultural reasons. So ..i would say that the best dawah is through a neutral platform such as the internet. The best way is through intellectual discourses. Islam is a religion for the intellectual mind. How is it possible for most malay muslims to do dawah when they are not even as articulate as our chinese revert brother here.im NOT insulting anyone .but these are facts..more than anything..it is the malay muslims who needs dawah. To get closer to their deen and understand the meaning of islam beyond just the rituals but deepening the tauhid and the deen.

The command is to unite under one Khalifah. The number one concern on the minds of the Muslims is the tragedy in Gazza. The destruction in Gazza is worse than that of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. The Zionist Israelis are the modern day Amelak as they were a tribe from nation of the Israelites and their brutality in Gazza and West Bank is the evidence. We have to listen to what Allah SWT is saying to us in the above verse and from the beginning. "And Remember when your Lord said to the Angels, I am going place Khalifah on earth".... 2: 30 You see the UN which is controlled by USA, is dead body in the muddy water as every resolution passed by majority, is vetoed by USA. Which means we have to create a balance of power in the world by creating United League of Muslim Nations. Which is to reestablish the Caliphate because we are children of Adam, peace be upon him . "United League of Muslim Nations" under one Khalifah will be a strictly defensive Force with a quick response to any threat to the Ummah of Islam. And it is easy to do it. It will be the Council of Muftis, from which they will choose the Khalifah. Under the Khalifah will be a seat for a Mufti from every country in world with 100,000 plus Muslim population as Islam is for entire World. From every municipality we will choose a representative till we have the Council of Muftis for that country with a Grand Mufti of that country to sit in the Council of Muftis under the Khalifah. All communication can be done remotely with everyone working from home. Most effective and real democratic way of governing where all decisions are made by the Council of Muftis but the Khalifah having the final say. Under the Khalifah, the "ULMN" will have its own army, navy and Air Force under one commander for defending the entire ummah. We already have the hardware from major Muslim countries. They just have to be relabeled "ULMN" when they out to defend any part of the Ummah like removing the Mediterranean Sea blockade by Israelis.The four letters "ULMN" will be enough to deter anyone from doing what is happening in Gazza today. But we have to be the Nation of Al Muttaqun for Allah SWT is saying now: "You are the Best of People ever raised up for Mankind, enjoining what is Good, forbidding what is evil and believing in Allah SWT" .... Quran 3: 110 Then how can we go wrong when the fear of "ULMN" will overwhelm the hearts of our enemies? That is what Islam is and we are Muslims to resolve every matter in a Peaceful manner, Insha Allah. Alhamdu Lillah.
