Rx350l is awesome. It isn't selling all that well at our dealership. The L is almost a niche product. It has more usable space with the 3rd row up than a GX!

My hybrid version of this car, the RX450h, after 1,000 miles of tracking the data, is averaging 33.8 MPG overall. I am thorough impressed for a vehicle of this size and weight.

People say it's not much different than the regular RX... but if you had an extra 4.4 inches, you'd be the talk of the town.

There's a calmness whenever I watch your videos that is just so pleasant and relaxing. Thanks for the quality videos you put out for our enjoyment.

V6 3.5L smooth extremely reliable engine and transmission. Besides that, all the suspension parts are classic, simple, reliable, comfortable, not sporty but that's what it is for. Cruise and commuting in Interstate at max 80mph. No Drama, 365 days driving per year, just regular oil change for decades.

After driving a 2016 RX for 2 years, I still can't get past 17.7 mpg (combined). I really like the vehicle, however, the MPG is very, very poor. Great Review, I enjoy your videos.

I like the fact that you put scales under the cars to see actual weight, thank you much, i don't know why all car companies don't show the weight when customers visit car show rooms, i ask the sales man, he has no idea, weight is very important when it come to performance.

owned a standard '17 RX and we loved it...i ended up trading in for a tundra because we needed more room in the 2nd row cabin tho. but gas mileage and features were amazing...we will probably get one again when we ditch my daughters car seat when she comes of age. infotainment isnt so bad once you get used to it...GPS is prolly the big PITA cuz its not touchscreen in anything before 2020.

I think this was your harshest video yet. I showed it to my grandfather and even he agreed that a general feeling of "lack of interest" clearly come across through this review. The RX is so reliable I just want to shut the garage door and fall asleep to those reliable exhaust fumes.

Such a clever car by Lexus. Ultra basic design, stamped steel everything, and raiding the parts bin = gigantic margins on their best selling product line the RX350/L. It's like financial equivalent of full sized trucks for the Big 3 - gigantic cash cow on growth hormone, GMOs, and PCP. If you love your Grandma, and she's still alive, get her this vehicle. You know she's worth it.

I agree about the dumbness of getting a Front Wheel drive version of this. My parents have a V6 Highlander Front Wheel Drive and the thing just spins tires all day in the rain. It needs the all wheel just to plant the power a little more smoothly.

Dear savagegeese. I have one problem with your videos. Because I am working from home and I hate dead silence, I used to turn a YT car channels on the second PC to create some background noise while I was able to switch my focus if I found something interesting (I am not listening to the music because I tend to start singing which could ruin my relationships with neighbours and scare all the birds). However, with your videos, I cannot switch off my focus, as they are perfect from the very first second. So thank you for ruining my productivity! Keep it on, Sir!

i have to agree with him about the joltiness in ride quality...i feel like my tundra handles broken pavement and bumps in the road considerably better than my '17 RX did.

@8:00 Independent trailing arm suspension is NOT the same as a dual wishbone. The trailing arm is a cheaper and inferior design as far as performance is concerned, but it offers better space for packaging the third row.

Depends what you are looking for. Buyers have different needs. I want to like the RX but the exterior design hasn't grown on me. Every time I see one on the road, it just looks a little weird to me. Like a submarine from Johnny Quest with 4 wheels that popped out from the wheel wells for the land portion of the mission. If I bought this car, it wouldn't be for the badge, it would be for the Lexus/Toyota reliability. Just no freaking problems whatsoever for 10 plus years. And for that reason, I would just get the Highlander Limited or XLE. Same reliability, 3rd row seat, same 3.5 engine and transmission, much more cargo space for $10,000 to $20,000 less. Better exterior design IMHO. And the Highlander can be had with an all leather steering wheel and manual rear seat which I prefer. The electric seat is cool in the showroom but after that I would fall asleep too every time I use it.

It's interesting to note that Lexus went the economical way and lengthened the body without lengthening the chassis (like a Mercedes-Benz S class, for example). Actually, I wonder why there is even a longer model with such a slight difference? Instead, why not standardize on this longer version to reduce the model lineup (with associated parts, and more importantly costs), and offer a 3rd row seating option? BTW, *love* the ol 'skool spare tire placement!

I still don't understand the tailgate gripe. Want to close? Push button, *walk away*. Want to open? Push button before you get to the car. Tailgate speed is not a meaningful metric. That said, phenomenal review as always.

what percentage of owners do you reckon ever use the third row in crossovers and SUV's? I mean, I'm sure in minivans its a bit different because a different market buys them and because the third row is no harder to access than the second, but with most three-row SUV's the third row is about as useful as the back seats of a Porsche 911, i.e. not useful at all.

Turbowski can also have a new Dodge Neon (rebadged Fiat) or the new Dodge attitude (Hyundai broke off their collab with Dodge, so now the attitude is a Mitsu Mirage sedan). I’ll be waiting at the border to see him run by.

Logically this is the best SUV in its class. Does everything perfectly and will never give a issue. I am really looking forward to seeing the next gen that should be due any time now. A high performance model should be a option

The Acura MDX rides really well and handles MUCH better than the Lexus RX

I have the NX and Lexus seems to struggle on bad roads, the hammering is very tiring.

If I had a spare $40k laying around and was a loyal Toyota/Lexus customer... then maybe. Otherwise... what a waste of 4.4 inches and curvy sheet metal. Bland as hell and feels like this should be part of a funeral procession. Great video as always!
