Review: 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 3 - Better than Tahoe and Expedition?

I spend a week with the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 3 to see if it's better than the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition. With a starting price around $60,000 and this one as-tested around $86,000 for this Wagoneer Series 3, the 2022 Wagoneer definitely commands a premium over its competitors. While it is the newest and freshest of the bunch and does have a few class-exclusive options, the Tahoe and Expedition still provide a better value with more power and more features for less money. The Jeep Wagoneer should still be a hit for Mopar fans and those that are tired of the usual Chevy and Ford options. What do you think of the Wagoneer? If people could only see how many expeditions and Tahoe/Yukon's we are getting in on trade. The hard plastic trophy goes to Ford and GM. Series I Waggy starting at $62k. The interior in the Wagoneers is far and above. Pay attention to the little details. Thinness of the carpeting in the Tahoe road noise etc

I really like that the Wagoneer lettering in the rear is raised more at the top than bottom.

Great review. The Wagoneer is not nearly as nice as it should be for the price. Now I don't have to waste time at the dealership.

I havent watched Matt in a while but used to really enjoy his videos and response to pulling away in fast cars. Its great to see him contiuing these reviews. I live in the UK and we dont get many of the featured cars here sadly.

Honestly a Wagoneer Series I 4x4 has almost everything you need when fully optioned out for 76K .... The features you are getting in the Series II and Series III are not must haves. For 76k it includes a tri-pane sunroof, rear entertainment system, tow package, passenger side display, heated and ventilated seats, memory seats, and so much more. I think this is a better buy compared to Ford or GM any day .....

We could not get a Yukon, or Tahoe, or Suburban, or Sequoia, or Expedition. They were all minimum 6 months out. This was available and it seems to best the others in value for money.

You can own it for about 3 years, then you must dump it asap. My wife's Cherokee was a disaster post warranty period.

14:40 Weird about the door handles. The previous gen Grand Cherokee has the sensors on all 4 doors at least on the mid-upper trims

Excellent review as per usual Matt. The prices on these extra large SUVs 🚙 and trucks 🛻 blow my mind and is way out my price range. Even though I work 45-60+ hours a week as a manager I am sadly still in that Renegade and Compass level as far as Jeeps go. I am glad that Jeep decided to jump into the XL SUV 🚙 space, since the Durango has been FCA’s larger vehicle for a while now.

I test drove one of these yesterday and loved it... but man that B-pillar is a monstrosity. You have to really really crane your neck to look over your shoulder. Ah well, decided to get one anyhow. Series II, but it's still quite nice.

So no disrespect sir for your video I think it's absolutely great but there is a correction the long-wheelbase versions will be coming out after this summer they've already announce those and there are plenty of spy shots and in videos of the camouflage long-wheelbase versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer

When I first saw it I thought it was ugly but it's growing on me I love the interior I would rather have a wagon there then the grand Wagoner

These make no sense to me. Maybe at 50k but 86k is crazy for a boring looking vehicle from a brand with a poor reputation for quality and little brand cachet. You could get a BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS for the same money. Or you could pay $20 grand less and get a reasonable well equipped Q7 or GV80 which are much more attractive vehicles. Or you could spend far less than $86k for a really nice three row vehicle from a mainstream brand with just as much or more cachet as Jeep.

It is actually a beautiful vehicle. I took the jump and just purchased one. No other luxury vehicles cabin was as impressive. Pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it and drive it in person. It was the only vehicle that I liked enough to trade in my Maserati.

@@yungsagegaming8577 No not all jeeps are trail rated, they need a special badge indicating that on the fender. This is still off road capable 4x4, just not big rock crawling and deep water fording. It is still very capable.

I'm still on board with the GM full sized SUV especially with the diesel option. Its large in charge and a bit less expensive when compared to the Jeep equivalent. The premiere model/level of the chevy Tahoe in the diesel guises is my preference over the wagoneer with any engine configuration!

Great review Matt! Hmm, no 360 cameras on a vehicle starting at $86K (your model) and it's pretty thirsty. Oh well, Kudos for Jeep to finally move into the 3rd row segment.

This is a very nicely appointed and designed vehicle, but as others mentioned, it's window sticker is out of touch with its target audience. I still don't know why 6-figure SUV's and pickup trucks have become the new normal, and question who exactly keeps buying them, as I was under the impression that most folks don't exactly have disposable incomes anymore...or are willing to finance a vehicle (let's be real, most luxury vehicles are leased) for the same kind of money that a house would have cost you 20 years ago...

Think you guys should really mention the slow release of these vehicles due to the chip situation taking place in this country during production. Oh, and don’t forget the additional cost tacked on by some dealers. It’s ridiculous!
