In this video, I test and review the 3 models of Supreme Cutter from Lancelot Sword. These swords were personally sharpened by Lancelot Chan and cut through a variety of tatami targets very well, as can be seen in the cutting footage from myself and other people.

Another note is that these are all Lancelot-Sharp version and were tested as is, unlike most swords Phillip tested that he had to further sharpened himself.

Something to add is that each buyer of Lancelot Sword, regardless from me directly or from Kult of Athena, will be entitled an online lesson on blade alignment.

Excellent review, as always. I absolutely love your content, Phil. You're like the Bob Ross of the HEMA and sharp cutting world (and I mean that as a compliment). Your reviews are calm, tranquil, and straightforward, with no fluff and none of the performative, hyperactive, over-the-top nonsense in/on other channels. Great overview Phil! Good to see that even with their very similar forms there is still plenty of variation in the SC family depending on the preferences of the user. Thanks for showcasing how each of the sabres handles

Lancelot did say that these were designed for expert cutters. Basically the F1 race car of swords. Maybe some day he'll design something for us common folk.

@@Wraste1 The online tutorial that come with the sword will transform any common folk to decent user, after all. These swords are not just sold as "hardware", but come with "software" to upgrade someone's skill. Several students of mine are owners of these swords and they did their test cutting. You can see in the hands of less proficient people the swords still performed in stellar.

Top sword like supreme cutter would allow very advanced skill to be used effectively, like finger powered feints and cuts done in rapid succession. If one only stick to the "common folk" swords like those with too much tolerance built in, one would never realize these advanced skills could be used. A sword both limits what you can do and also teaches you what you can do. So a good sword that allows advanced skill to be used, is a good teacher that showcase what can be done, and one doesn't out-grow such sword.

Not in any plan. There're specific goals for my designs, which is to be able to cut through thigh target at near the tip, and to be able to defend one's leg. A wakizashi length version would not be capable to do either of that.

looks like an Mongolian type sword design, with the forward curve handle, and backward curve spine,

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/psqTn8uB3cmdaKM.html You may check this video, where I pit supreme cutters against a wide variety of swords, including one wo yao dao where some people commented they look similar. Despite the "appearance similarity", the performance difference is pretty huge. I've test cut with "mongolian dao" by certain big brand and when using it single handed, it could not cut through forearm target. The Wo Yao Dao outmatched the mongolian dao, and Compact outmatched both of them. So the difference between a mongolian dao and compact, would be even bigger than the one between wo yao dao and compact.
