Love your videos. AME-7 did not have fuel tanks they were all electric They went from DC to AC and Ran the NEC for 30 plus yeats

Fuel tank on an electric unit? I'm not knowledgeable about electric equipment but I believe that's a battery box.

6:19 for the price I would expect the fit and finish to be better. I’d return in with that gap between the body and frame.

Dumb question But how do you open the pantograph? My new 926 came in the mail today and I dont think the pantographs open the way the older Atlas AEM-7s did

I have 2 of the NJT ALP44's from the earlier run years ago. Those little units generated 7,000 horsepower. That's more than the UP DDA40X which generated 6,600 horsepower if I'm correct. It is sad they retired them. I recently read they have more ALP45DP's coming and the GP40PH-2's are going next. The Metro North now has the F40PH-2CAT's and were rebuilt into F40PH-3C's. I hope Atlas does the PL42AC to go along with their multilevel cars.

The ALP-46 can be easily done by Atlas. It shares many of the same components with the ALP-45DP

I'm not too mad about the ALP-44 not having ditch lights because I always thought they didn't have any and I couldn't see them but the AEM-7 is a different story. If I can't somehow manually put ditch lights on it, then I'm not buying it because the ditch lights give it a good look.

Why didn't ATLAS DO THE 2ND RUN WITH DITCH LITES, THEY SHOULD OF MADE IT MORE ACCURATE, SAME FOR THE ALP44, DITCH LIGHTS, WHY NOT??

bcuz they would have had to retool the shells, this isnt like a real engine where you just cut a hole and add the ditch lights

Definitely. It seems like Athearn is the only one with the Tsunami. Well, Bachmann uses sound value which is Soundtraxx but most definitely not Tsunami.

Lovely model , Atlas are right up there with the best like MTH and Broadway Ltd at a price point more wallet friendly as a rule. But I do wish they'd change their packaging to the one used by Broadway and others , which is more eco and user friendly.
