Thx for your review, Eve. I have too many paints already, but the tin is interesting. I like the deep wells and the fact that the surface doesn’t bead up.

I bought two Meeden empty palettes (with half pans), and they seem fine to me, but they are the first metal palettes I've had, so I have nothing to compare them to. Am pleased with them. Have a 48 for my complete watercolor palette and a 24 for a travel palette.

Hi , great video ! I’m in Australia and I have that exact tin , I love it and have my Sennelier paints in it , it. Cleans up really well , very lIttle staining ! I put pans in the gap in the middle too so it holds 36 half pans

I do not hate the look of that palette at all, actually. I am not in the market for one anyway right now, but I doubt I would have given it even a first glance if I were. Seeing the design in this review was definitely intriguing, and I would not rule it out were I on the lookout. It seems kinda beefy and I like that.

I have coveted a Whiskey Painter's Palette for ages now... But this looks like a reasonable approximation in the same style. At $40.99 on Canadian Amazon, I bought the palette before I even finished watching your video. lol. I'll let you know how it goes. I think it will be the new home for my M. Graham paints.

Woah! I had no idea Meeden had expanded into that style of palettes. I'm much more interested in the palette than the paints, but I'll keep them in mind as a good children's option. ^^ P.S. This might not be at all interesting to you, or you might already be aware, but if you're not, I recommend that you check out the Kickstarter that's going on now for the tabletop RPG Pirates of Pugmire. It seems like it's right up your alley. =^.^=

The palette itself looks really nice! Can you fit a full pan in the center with the longer side of the pan parallel to the shorter side of the palette? I've always used meeden metal palettes, and really enjoy them. Thank you for the video!

Thanks for the review! The tin looks a lot like the Winsor&Newton one. Just out of curiosity: do full pans fit into the middle section inbetween the half pans there? That way you could put more colors in.

I actually have one of these meeden palettes myself, but mine seems to have an odd warp to it so it kind of wobbles when resting on a table? Other than that minor thing it works great though. Great review as always though Eve! ^ w ^

Mine didn’t come with pans 🤭. That’s kinda weird. Also my pallet stained a loooot! I wonder if all of them are not made the same maybe? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have had the tin for a few weeks now and love it. I could not see it listed for the UK on Amazon or Ebay so looked for Meeden on aliexpress, where I found it offered with some extra discount, and free postage, it arrived about a fortnight sooner than I thought I would have to start looking out for it, and in immaculate condition, though with the same manufacturing marks as Eve describes. I had a set of paint I wanted a nice palette for, and it has housed them nicely. For those who like to have half and full pans together in a palette, this can be done, but only with White Nights pans placed vertically in the central brush well. So either use that brand in the middle, or save any used empty pans for the future. I do not want it for that, and have brushes, a pencil, a technical pen, eraser, and a half pan of oxgall there instead, it makes a very complete kit. I never thought I would get to own this style of box, I think it is a very good copy of the Fome box, only given away by the very slightly thinner gauge of metal, and slightly less dense black enamel. I am going to put a tiny dab of glue at either end of the hinge to ensure the holding pin does not come out. The Fome box retails here in the UK at 2-3 times as much, so I regard this tin as a bargain at the price.

ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR MEEDEN PALETTE? The white paint lining the mixing wells of my 12 slot Meeden palette has started dissolving into the paint when I use it. I noticed it yesterday when I was stirring more water into some Quin Rose I had just put into the well. When I lifted my brush, I noticed it ha a streak of white paint on it. I rinsed the brush and swiped the puddle again with the same result. Then I rinsed and mixed the actual puddle again and the paint became more opaque and white streaks started to appear in it. I have no idea what caused this problem and I'd hate to have to throw it out.

I just noticed while working on my last video that Meeden had started carrying this style of tin. I wonder whether they will also sell the smaller versions of these enameled palettes!

how many half pans can you add to it?

I have enough better paints (too many) to buy such a large set for $10 - can’t have much of a pigment load at that price, but I really like the paint tin!

How long does it take to dry?

The tin looks great, but I'm not a fan of Meedan paints.
