Awesome review. Just got my book yesterday and have read through it twice now. I didn't expect anything from it when I saw. But, this looks really fun. A great gateway miniature game... I think. Can't wait to give it a whirl.

Thanks for the review: I found it useful as you convinced me this wasn't for me. I don't find the setting particularly compelling - as it doesn't appear to offer anything that Frostgrave or Tribal don't already offer. Throw in the clunky seeming combat, and the fact that most mechanisms appear "err borrowed" from Tribal, or Casino games and it seems that there's not a lot new here.

Thanks for this video, Tracy George. It helped decide K&C wasn't for me. With the card playing mechanic, I couldn't really play this game solitaire. Thank you again.

Uses the same sort of card based movement and activation as Mana Press' Tribal game system, but the Poker hand system relies on so many Tables! As is often the case with Osprey rules the game seems slowed down with constantly having to find the correct table. Which hand beats which? What damage does that do? Does it do some weird critical? What does this special rule mean? Ok, onto the next model ...repeat above. Looks slow and tedious, especially with all the extra rules and the lack of feel of combat ( using poker hands against the defender has none of the cut and thrust you need in a gang fight)Seems like it used Tribal as inspiration but forgot to keep it as fast playing, simple and elegant.

Somehow my copy of the book (bought @ google books, so a pfd one) ended up with Magical effects charts not having the outcome at all ( both the attack and support chart were just black and had no text besides the Effect One and so on). So you saved me a lot of time and nerves with those charts explained:-) Cheers mate! Also could you point me to the rules for Blackjack that you use in the video, because it seems like we know different variations of the game when it comes to counting scores... Just found out that in scenario 6 (V.I.C.) I got no stats for V.I.C. (same thing as with the Magical Effects Charts, just the topmost part of the chart is visible). Could you please pass those? (Mental note -as it turns out google books sells some pretty shitty stuff)

You can download and print a cheat sheet with the card listings from Osprey's site. How do you track how much damage each mini has sustained?
