Great review! I am filming a wedding this weekend with a Sony FS5 on rhe DJI RS3 Pro. I saw this on Facebook for $100 and your video convinced me to buy it.

Thank you for this overview. I use a Ronin every week and always want more grip length-this will definitely solve that issue. Appreciate your efforts Sir.

Thanks for sharing this. All this time I have used the Manfrotto carbon fiber monopod but adding this would free that up. Excited to use mine. I just ordered one! :)

Good review. We also bought the GimBoom, after we purchased the Manfrotto MVG300XM gimbal. With that gimbal, we disconnect the handle from the gimbal, both have their own power, then we attach the handle to the bottom of the GimBoom and we can control remotely, the gimbal. This allows for controlling tilt when we do "jib" type shots, plus we can start and stop the recording and do other things. It all works very well together.

Hi Encore Multimedia, can you tell me what you use to connect The MVG300XM handle to the bottom of the GimBoom please?

Thanks for this video. I was looking at Manfrotto Neotec monopod, which have some sort of automatic release mechanism for the sections, also the same with this new YC Onion Pineta Monopod, but both of those monopods are only 3 sections, and when they are folded, they are too lengthy to put inside a backpack or carry on. This GimBoom might be the solution for now, until someone does an automatic deployment mechanism for monopods, that when folded it is less than 50cm (~20”). Hopefully I can find a good deal on this gimboom

Great review! What focus settings do you use for those low to high boom shots at the reception venue? The focus nicely racked from the chair to the whole room 😍 Also, one of the last shots of the couples hands as they're walking away, how do you keep that in focus while on a gimbal? Thank you!

Thanks for watching. I use auto focus pretty much all the time. I normally use the "Zone" focus setting on the Sony or the next smaller focus point on the Sony A7sIII. The first Tamron 28-75 is great with auto-focus! I now use the Sony 24-70 GM V2 as the main lens and it is good as well with the auto focus.

They are the DJI legs. www.amazon.com/DJI-Ronin-S-SC-Extended-Comfortable/dp/B07JK2C1L9/ref=asc_df_B07JK2C1L9/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343974510153&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=108554179089701726&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019653&hvtargid=pla-751151135704&psc=1&mcid=cffd7a2a06113d0188f2f0fc1ff8245c&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=69534739816&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=343974510153&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=108554179089701726&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019653&hvtargid=pla-751151135704&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqsitBhDlARIsAGMR1RiCH9uIENj6otjrrbQ0al3d0cR7HGFuNkuaKV0wMZzA5JPG9PCNtBwaApduEALw_wcB

is there a chance that the gimbal and monopod to separate while filming? i'm worried that my gombal might spin and fall

I was wondering, do you think if I used my regular monopod and mounted my gimbal on it would it be the same as using the GimBoom? I'm just asking because I already have a monopod and I would like to avoid redundancy in my equipment.
@NorthernLightsVideo
@NorthernLightsVideo Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can get some of the same benefits with a monopod, the added weight is the big drawback. The Gimboom is pretty light compared to most monopods.

Monopod will break from its joints, when you attach your gimbal, you will be risking your equipment. GIMBOOM IS SOLID WHILE HOLDING HORIZONTAL AS WELL, Since it was built for jib shot extensions

Excellent review, I just stumbled across this product today and was surprised it's been out for a couple of years and I was unaware of it. Quick question, the noise it makes when it opens up from being closed, that thumping sound at the end of it extending opening to full extension, is there a way to dampen the sound or eliminate it?
@NorthernLightsVideo
@NorthernLightsVideo 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Regarding the noise. Not really, I guess you could just slow down to dampen the sound if needed. So not slam it open... That is about it. :)
