Looks like a well built machine but it looks like it needs geared down. When power is needed sometimes you don't need forward speed. Maybe it is but the operator looked the machine was handling him.

Definitely takes some getting used to. Like a floor buffer, you gotta learn to work with the machine instead of trying to muscle the machine.

What about those tires? are they Pnumatic? I have honey Locust on my place!! Their BRUTAL!!
@campnobody3 ай бұрын
I am not 100% sure but yeah, I think they are pneumatic. They are pretty knobby, though. If you just rent it, eh...Give it a try!

@@campnobody thanks!! you ended up with a DR, right?

No, I didn't end up buying one. We have borrowed the neighbors' Dirty Hands pull behind mower a few times, though.

What were you using to cut the remaining portion of the small trees so they wouldn't poke a hole in your tire? Those are what I need to get rid of in my land. I thought a brush mower would do it but it seems like it does not cut them trees low enough to the ground. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, that’s the only bad part about these brush mowers. They are great at cutting a quick path through dense stuff but to make it a nice path, you gotta do some detail work. There’s no easy way to do it. Gotta go back with loppers, handsaw or chainsaw. It’s a pain. Never fails if I use the chainsaw, I hit a rock or the dirt. Thanks for watching!

@@campnobody I had a feeling that was gonna be the case. Thanks for the quick response to my question!

How much land were you able to clear per hour once you got the hang of it?
@campnobody Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don’t have a good answer for this. We mainly used it to cut trails. We didn’t really do any large areas.

I rented one have a 1.25 acre square lot. Overgrown thick grassy brush with small saps. I started at day brake I mowed it all down by noon. It is a mix wooded lot. Now cutting all the trees down I don't want. Cleaning and clearing it up

Might be doing two acres with this soon..in 100 F degree Texas heat.

Yikes! How did it go? We just did some more brush cutting in the upper 80's and it was bad enough.
@RicardoHernandez-zr1pw2 жыл бұрын
@@campnobody terrible. The holes 🕳 from the uprooted trees 🌲 made it very difficult. The terrain was too rough so only a small portion got done. I probably just need something like a bobcat or a dozer to clear it all out.

@@RicardoHernandez-zr1pw Damn, for 2 acres, especially in that heat, you definitely should of gotten AC temp controlled skid steer with brush cutting or "forestry attachment" -- learn as we go. Work hard, but don't kill yourself

@@jessel8833 too expensive for me.

I have a weed wacker with a "saw" blade for really rough terrain. It's like 30ccs 2-stroke. I like the Renegade blade. The whole thing cost me less than $200. I am renting a Billy Goat tomorrow, so I appreciate your comments about the holes, etc. My strategy is to follow the path of least resistance with the Billy Goat and come back next week with my weed wacker. I took the sheild off of the weed wacker, by the way. I have boots, protective glasses, gloves -- but the blade is about 4 feet from me so I haven't had any problems.

Is it one speed? or is there a slow fast option? Thanks!
@campnobody Жыл бұрын
Hey! It’s pretty much one speed. There is no fast/slow option. You can kinda go slow by easing into the “trigger”. But at a certain point it’s just one speed. Thanks for watching!
