A person in my community was getting a bit behind with their yard care and I asked if they needed a hand! Hopefully this video inspires others to reach out to people in their community that might be in need :)

i have an 82 year old neighbour who’s wife died and i noticed he was losing a lot of weight after she passed when i asked why he told me it was because she’d make his 3 meals a day..so for the past 3 years i’ve been doing his 3 meals every day ❤️ he’s now a HUGE part of mine and my daughters life. simple act of kindness has gained us an amazing man in our lives!!

My feelgood story: I volunteered to go shopping for people with health issues, one was a sweet old lady in her 70s, she wasn't really mobile and lonely. One day a friend called, they rescued dogs from a puppy mill and were looking for new homes. I showed the lady pictures and she got instantly drawn to one. I asked my friend and surprisingly, she said the lady can have the dog for a month, for trial so to say. She was hellbent on keeping her so when my friend told her the dog needs more movement because the lady only let the dog into the backyard, she started small walks up and down the steet, the walks got longer and her health improved, a year later i wasn't needed for shopping anymore because she managed to walk there herself. Since she got the dog she is more confident and healthy and happy and i'm so happy for those two.

During lockdown I was staying in my mum's house. Her neighbour's knew I was alone so they made me Easter dinner and I couldn't send their crock back empty so I dropped it off full of muffins. This went back and forth throughout lockdown and we became good friends. The house in between ours was vacant since the lady in it died of cancer (before covid) and together we'd all been keeping up her driveway shovelling and yard work and such as her family were far away and couldn't keep it up. The new owner moved in and my mum and I were moving out so I was doing a final cut of her lawn. I figured the new neighbour might not have a lawnmower yet and I couldn't stand to leave a line down the middle between her area and ours so I just did the whole thing. I was trying to be low-key about it and didn't realise she was home! She came out and tried to pay me! I was like "oh no, luv. That's not how this neighbourhood works. We take care of each other here."

My son had a friend from high school who had been a foster kid then adopted by a family but he had issues with acclimating to their structure so he ran away and was going to live in a tent behind the city park. I couldn’t let that happen to him so he lived with us and I encouraged him to continue contact with his adopted family. Long story short, we got him through high school, successfully graduated and now he’s an outstanding member of the military. I’m so proud of him. We are so vulnerable at that age. Predators everywhere. The community needs to protect our fledgling members.

David, it makes me so happy to hear that. There was one thing I wanted people to take away from these videos, and that is to pay it forward, and I really appreciate that you have done just that. The beauty of such small kindnesses (which are big to the recipients) is that they tell others what happened, and hopefully inspires others to do more of the same. Mate, turns out you're absolutely spot on! KZfaq recommended this video while I was procrastinating a bit about mowing my lawn. While doing my front yard I looked down the street at the place that's always thigh deep in weeds. Your video inspired me to go down and introduce myself. Wouldn't ya know it the older couple there have serious health problems and they look after a family member too. So I smashed out their front yard and I'll be back to deal with the backyard later in the week. They were absolutely stoked! It's a great feeling being able to help instead of just shaking my head at the state of someone's place. Cheers mate!

When I was 8 I nearly drowned in a freshwater nature reserve. I was saved by a guy and never got his name. Fast forward 10 years, I was a basketball player for my high school’s 6th form and county. On a Saturday I would train at my local court and some of the neighbourhood children would watch. I started devoting my weekends to arranging training sessions and matches for those kids. One Sunday after we finished a kid came up and thanked me and said his dad wanted to thank me too. His father asked me why I started these weekends up. I told him the story of when I was 8 and I owed it all to this stranger. I wanted to pay forward some kindness of my own. Turned out this dad was my saviour! We kept in contact until he moved to Europe, his son now has his own business in fitness and I have the use of a villa in Spain whenever I want! I’ve never used it lol, but do good and it comes back around. I often think of that day it almost ended 32 years ago, and how much I have to be thankful for. 🙂

I lost my husband 10 years ago, I kept up the yard work as best as I could till my mower quit 2 years ago. As I could afford I would hire someone to mow and did a couple of major clean ups in the spring. Last year a co-worker of mine said he loves to mow lawns and take care of plants and he would love to help me out with my yard. Such a sweet young man, he takes care of everything outside for me, I don't have to worry about a thing and I have the best looking yard in the neighborhood. Thank you for all that you do, like someone below also said "to the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world" May God bless you.

I suffer horribly from anxiety that is worse at night and I found your channel about a month ago. Not only do your videos help me with my anxiety they help me to sleep at night. You are my absolute favorite lawn guy to watch and the funny thing is when watching videos from vast array of lawn people on you tube I find myself saying things like “Sean would not have done that in that order” or “Sean would not have done that that way”. I have OCD and your eye for detail is what keeps me coming back again and again. I love your heart for the people that you come across in your work and I believe your blessings will 100 fold for your acts of kindness. I hate to make you work harder than you need to but I have watched all of your videos at least 5 times and I wish you could upload more on a regular basis. It can be hard to ask for help and hard to accept it when offered. I am stubborn and have been encouraged to let people help me. Just a couple if days ago I accepted an offer to mow my lawn because I am unable due to an injury. The offer was sincere, my need was real, it was still hard for me.

There’s also the energy factor. Simply having someone in your space takes energy, even if they are doing the work. I have to factor in rest time when my mum wants to come over for a coffee. Doesn’t matter how much you love the person, it takes energy to have them there. Then add in the embarrassment factor, and add in that over the years most of your friends/siblings/cousins have gotten busy with their lives and drifted away, and suddenly there aren’t a lot of people to call on. My almost 70 year old mother has been mowing my front lawn for a few years now, since the last mowing guy I had let me down. They’re notoriously unreliable here. I do have a very easy push button start mower so I felt okay letting her do that. My backyard looked pretty similar to the one in the video. Not quite, but not far off. I’ve just found a new guy to help with it and so far he seems reliable so we will see how that goes. I’ve got him doing the front as well so maybe I can have Mum over more often and she can help me to pack so I can get out of this hell hole of a noisy neighbourhood.

The story my mother drunkenly told me ended with "Every time I look at you I'm reminded of the worst day of my life." I was 16 & the story was why she abused me all my life. I was fortunate. I had 4 different people spread out in my younger life who each saved my life; a friend's mom, a teacher, an ex boyfriends father, & everything my grandmother said to the sad little girl I was. Those people taught me love. 2 kept me from suicide. One gave me the fathers love I never had. They all gave me unconditional love at different points in my life when I needed it the most. I'm 61 & still here 🤗 What you have done is so kind. Bless you 🎁

My mom ran the church bus for years this was an old school bus that the church bought and went every Sunday morning to pick up those who didn't have ways to get to church and this included about a hundred children. We went every Saturday to visit and make sure they were all doing ok and that they were coming Sunday but that wasn't the only reason my mother wanted to make sure every child was ok. She treated them all like they were her own child and though they all had different stories and most of them came from abusive/broken homes she always hugged them and told them that she loved them. She truly did and when she passed and we had the funeral the church was packed with a large amount of those children now adults some still had some problems in life but a lot of them had better outcomes and many got up and echoed the same story it was her hugs and her true love for each one of them that made their lives better. She did this with everyone she met they were always a part of the family no matter what came to dinners, special events, holidays no one was ever turned away. We grew up very poor but she went out and spent money she didn't have to buy gifts for birthdays and Christmas her inspiration has affected me and made me the person I am today.

Blade, you are very strong! managed to transform the garden (which looked more like a military training ground!!). My God. I'm glad you saw the hole and avoided getting hurt. Good job, young man!!! My childhood story: I always loved roses, and every day, on the way to school (I was 10 years old), there was a house with a garden full of flowers. my teacher. One day, I was late, I ran past that house, and picked the first flower I found.... and I ended up taking leaves with me. The lady of the house screamed and went out into the street. here and give me back my flower, you naughty girl!" I came back. Head down, handed the flower and ran again. I felt so ashamed I never took flowers from anyone again. The garden no longer exists and that lady may not even exist anymore. But the memory is still alive inside me.

Boy that Billy Goat cutter did the job quite well. The transformation was wonderful. Thanks for the wonderful job for this person. /family. Sean, I’m 76 yr old grandmother and I have been there for a few of my kids’s friends. Sometimes for a short while, then one girl for two years. This will be so nice for this family to have their yard back 🥰 Thank you for kind of paying it forward through your free service/labor. You have a good heart.

I walked into the petrol station after filling up, and the motorcyclist at the checkout/counter, was distraught. He had forgotten to pick up his wallet and three people had already walked out shaking their heads. My first thought was, “well I’ll pay for it”, so instead of saying “I’ll pay for it” I said, did you fill it right up?. He said no, so I told him that he should go and fill it up as I as going to pay for it for him. What turned out to only be an extra £10 to my bill, was huge for him. I later found out through a tag on Facebook, that he’d had a really rough time and and really needed the help. Sometimes, people just need a TINY bit of help, it’s not about the cost or the amount of help they may need, it’s the fact that you’re willing to help them that matters.

My father owned a backhoe and would do little acts of kindness like this throughout his 40+ years of manual labor... and after he passed on, at his viewing he had a line that went through the entire church, out the door, and halfway around the block because there were so many people who had their lives touched by his kindness and considered him a friend because he would get to know them and learn little stories about their lives that would show them that someone in the world did care about them. Aside from the video being very satisfying to watch, it's even more satisfying to know that little acts of kindness like this are being done for someone despite their race/religion/gender/politics and just caring about them as a human being. Well done mate, both on the yard job and on being a charitable human being.

My feel good story: There's this old lady that lives close to where I live. She's always been alone as far as I can remember. Last year we had some pretty heavy snow coming down and I saw that she hadn't cleared her driveway in several days. So I knocked on her door and asked if she had a snowshovel. She said yes, so I took it and cleared her driveway and the path leading up to her door. When I was done, she asked me why I did it. I told "Because I can". Later that evening I was told that she had been a widow for 30 years and that all her kids life far away. Keep up the great work Sean, it's really inspiring to see your motivations. Greetings from Germany.

Me and my 2 children live in my aunt's house but we have our own space. She is a hoarder and we have removed all the garbage in places that we have access to except her part of the house. Last month she got very sick that she cannot walk, luckily it was pneumonia and not covid. Ambulance had to get inside her house to take her out on a strecher. With that experience she finally allowed us to clean the inside of her house. Strangers entering her house and seeing its condition must have been the catalyst. Even us cannot enter her space before. It would take a long time to clear up the mess but we are very happy that she is letting go. Thank you for cleaning up other people's yard! Kindness is a rare commodity nowadays.

Now I understand why you're doing what you're doing! God bless you! Here's a story: a lady in my grandmother's neighborhood lost her husband to cancer while she was fairly and had two children to provide for and raise. She was a strong woman, but with no education and no marketable skills besides housework. My grandmother went to five people she knew and told them they were hiring this lady as their housekeeper. (My mother was one.) Grandmother arranged for the lady to be picked up and transported to work and back home again in the afternoons before her children got home from school. My grandmother also knew a homeless man who lived in a sort of cave. She took him good. My grandmother also knew a lady, who b back in the old days, was almost totally deaf. She received $20 a month disability. Her rent for a shack that was propped up in the back on sticks to keep it from toppling over the mountain side, was $19 a month. This lady literally had $1 a month to live on. Things were a lot less expensive back then (1960's) but nobody could live on $1 a month! Grandmother would have our mother bring us to her house when she (grandmother) knew she (grandmother) had to be at work. That gave her the opportunity to ask the deaf lady to come babysit us while she (grandmother) was at work. That gave my grandmother a reason to pay her...so she'd have some money. Plus, grandmother made sure the lady had plenty of food to eat and her one outfit clean and pressed to go to Church on Sundays. Then they walked to Church together. I called my grandmother a one woman social service agency! When she retired, she had more money than she'd ever had when she worked. She also had two constant carers with her till the day she died. What goes 'round does come 'round.

My hat is off to you, I've helped a few over the years, but not even close to what you did. There are of course two sides to situations like this. Four years ago, I became wheel chair bound and totally dependent on others. When acting as the benefactor, always be cognizant of the emotional well being of those you help. Trust me, it is a bit-- being needy after a lifetime of self reliance and it can be hard acknowledging and accepting help. You can be grateful, but even a bit resentful at first, so be understanding. I have a wife of fifty years, grown sons, daughter and grand-kids, so I am set, but there are many we will never know about if we don't pay attention.
