Just set mine up, without the rotisserie. One key point about the pizza is heat. Throw a chunk of wood in the back with your charcoal, move the cover vent to the front above the opening. This will direct the heat up and over the pizza. Bottom vent was about half open. Heat came up to almost 700f.

Hi Tom ! Nice video. I don’t know if anyone said it but your solution is to add wood chunks to create a fire. It is the flame that will cook the top. It also helps to raise the temperature.

Another advantage of this kit is you are able to cook items like chicken using direct fire. The ring also comes with tabs on the upper portion that allow you to place the grill grates on top creating a large enough space for direct grilling, perfect for grilling chicken and other items without worrying about flareups.

I think the top will come along quicker if you bring the flue around to the front and force the heat-flow over the top of the pizza.

Hi Tom If you watch the video you will see that the door you put on upside down that's why you had trouble putting it on. Keyhole slot goes large hole at bottom when installed.

Great vid as always, Tom! I didn't catch it when you described how you set it up, but did you have any kind of heat deflector over top the pizza? That'll save your lid and cook the pizza more evenly. I've heard some folks use their Hunsaker griddles.
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for Watching Jerry! Good question! Something to better deflect would be nice, but next time I’ll try having the vent in the front allowing the heat to roll over the pizza.

Hey Tom, I just ordered this combo set for my Weber Master Touch 22 and saw we got the same deal. Seemed like a really good deal compared to all the other choices. I did notice that you were putting the pizza oven cover door on upside down in the video. It looks like putting that door on could be a pain, especially with a hot oven. That's a good tip for me to pay attention to. Don't want to bend that door first thing. Thanks. You talked about the pizza needing more heat. One video I saw might help. It showed a guy on this same setup having that same issue. He used a second 22 inch grate he had lying around. He put it on those top tabs of the Only Fire ring to form a overhead heat deflector. He lined the grate with aluminum foil and put a cast iron skillet on top of the grate over the fire to direct the heat over the pizza. He said that this setup made the cook more even and also kept his handles from getting too hot. He almost melted them on his first cook with the ring. I need a second 22 inch grate without that 12 inch insert for the Master Touch anyway so I'll give that a shot when mine comes in. Looking forward to your rotisserie video.

Thanks for Watching Bob! Appreciate the feedback! My wife told me about the door, don’t know what I was thinking. I would next time put the vent toward the front allowing the the heat to roll over the pizza. For the price, I think it’s a great deal

Try baskets of briquettes left & right and add real wood. You need flame to get the temps for pizza. You wont need the front cover (you had that upside down BTW) I also use a grate with the lift up sections for adding coal but turn it upside down so you can keep feeding wood as you burn it out. Makes the pizzas quicker and tastier.
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for Watching Yanti! Good catch on the front cover, my wife pointed that out also….thanks for the tips! Merry Christmas
@yantiwarrick87482 жыл бұрын
Adding wood for fire will see the flames lick up to the bowl which will cook the top of the pizzas quicker. Using this method I get temps of 600-700+ at the riser thermometer. Pizzas are done in 3-5 minutes max.

I have the same kit, i saw a yt video of a guy with this kit and he added another grill grate sitting on top of the main part and he covered the grates with aluminum foil to deflect the heat coming from the rear over the pizza. Instead of using foil i put an old steel baking sheet as a defletor and it works like a charm. Top gets nice and cooked along with the crust.

Here's my 2 cents Tom. Close the top vent, leave the bottom vent open. Mod the door to add an adjustable vent. That way the heat should go up and over the pizza to cook the top and out the door. Anyway, the pizzas looked mighty tasty. Thanks.

What if you put some charcoal on the back grate behind the stone.
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for Watching! I had the charcoal from the middle all the way to the back, worked pretty well, what I’ll do different is the Weber vent to the front to roll the heat over the pizza. Also the front on helps allot. Merry Christmas

Hi Tom! I think OnlyFire took this unit off the market. Can't seem to find it anywhere and your link to it is now broken. Did you hear anything? Wanted to add one to my Christmas list as the combo rotisserie is a really good idea. Second choice is the Kettle Pizza but no rotisserie.

Hey Tom, greetings from Ireland, It looks good, have a 22 1/2 rotisserie kit from this company, a little loose fitting but used gasket which sealed it up nicely, perfect results and decent price, I use an 18 1/2 weber and a cheap pizza stone on the cooking grate, half chimney spread underneath, same surface temp probe as you until 240c then cook, I quarter turn lid to even out. 7 to 10 mins tops. Easy, fun and cheap.

We have both the onlyfire rotisserie and the pizza attachments separately and the are both top notch quality at a fraction of the price but not at any expense to quality for either. Both work superbly well and you cant beat the price for everything you get with them. The price weber wants for their rotisserie is ridiculous compared to this.

The secret to the pizza setup is to get coals hot and have wood on top of the coals to catch fire. Leave the front open all the time with the lid vent NOT over the coals(you will lose a lot of heat). The flames from the wood should be high enough to raise the temp inside so the temp gauge on the dome spins once around and you will cook the too of the pizza within a couple minutes turning the pizza 180 degrees once in that time to cook it all evenly.

This can be done with just the Weber Kettle. But, the ability to watch the pie sizzle to perfection while turning it around, without lifting the top, makes it all the while better!😊
