This is a review of the Baselworld 2017 Omega Speedmaster 60th Anniversary release. The reference of this model is: 311.10.39.30.01.001
Omega produced 3557 individual watches and also a Trilogy set of 557.

BE WARNED ABOUT THIS: the mismatching VPS (Vibr.-per-second) and SPLIT SEC markers. The speedmaster 1957 (311.10.39...) and the professionals with few exceptions have the SAME design flaw, and the speedy reduced as well - a DESIGN CRIME, and all the liars who promote this lie are themselves, by definition, liars. This is FRAUD. 21600 VPH (6 vibr. per second) require the seconds be visually divided into 3 or 6 with the split second markers; 28800 VPH (8 VPS) require markers visually dividing the seconds into 1/4th or 1/8th fractions. They have been doing otherwise for decades. This is CRIMINAL FRAUD by omega and all sales representatives, including Tim in the watchbox and TGV.

I sold the Railmaster and quickly regretted it. This has the same case, hands, crown, bracelet, clasp, and accessories. And you’re right about the bracelet and fit. Sturdy and sublime. As for the 19 mm width, it solves the non tapering problem so many have while accentuating the watch head. I simply love it.

Great review, I love all 3 iterations and actually chose the seamaster because I found the speedmaster too thick. Also didn’t like the fact that the speedmaster only had a 2 year warranty vs the 4 yr for the other 2. Either way you can’t go wrong with any of the 3 SE’s!

I really don't know why everyone raves about Glidelock (I own an SD4K), because all you really need is a few mm of adjustability, and Easylink or even better, JLC's 2x2.5mm version, is perfect!

I think easy link is the best method. Super fast and just enough size difference. However, Omega has done a great job with their interaction of an extendable clasp.

I love the watch. The only thing that is a downer is the use of the 1861. For $10K I can’t handle the thought of plastic parts in the movement.

Now this watch is really nice. Would I trade my speedy for this variant? Nah.... but this is a nice watch just not at a premium... the rail master is $2500 bucks. It does nothing for me personally... seamaster is also kinda pointless as they already have the seamaster 300

I've measured it. It's a 21mm. The watch is absolutely stunning. The clasp is the only thing I'm not a fan of. The new 50th apollo's bracelet is how it suppose to be done. This one doesn't taper as much. Omega has gone so far to make it look almost exactly like a ck2915. They should've just gone a little bit further to make the bracelet right. I've ordered an aftermarket flat-link bracelet very similar to the original. Will see how that look on my 60th.

too many versions of this watch... really it should be the current evolution modern model, and something like the Cal 321 Ed White model... which would be the premium classic option..

With all the chronographs available when you finally lay down your money there are much better watches as far as looks and better movements available. Getting tired of Omega beating the one watch with every tribute they try to survive on. If they hadn't taken it to the moon it would have disappeared long ago.

Well it did become the NASA watch and there's a great story behind it at the end of the day. Looks are always subjective and I've explained why I like the movement, but each to their own :-)

What chronographs "are much better watches as far as looks and better movements available" exactly? If you get every one of the billion "limited" edition watches Omega puts out you will collect a lot of hideous pieces but that's your own fault. Everyone knows as long as you stick to the iconic versions of a watch you'll always do fine. There is no other chronograph that can even come close to the history and lineage of the Speedmaster.

@@1ohtaf1 I loved everything about this extremely informative video. I also agree the 60th is an excellent reissue. However, in response to your inquiry of which other chronographs to be considered "exactly," I might suggest a Zenith DeLuca, El Primero. I own this one in particular, www.bachmann-scher.de/en/sold-watches/zenith-de-luca-el-primero-chronograph-stainless-steel-bj-2000-3363.html and love mine as much as WH loves his new Speedmaster '57.
