This solid aluminum bracket has a 1/4-20 hole on the bottom to attach it to most tripods. It includes a mounting post that will screw into the 1/4-20 mounting port on many larger binoculars. You can then place the mounting post into the hole on the top of the bracket and lock it into place with a thumbscrew.
This allows you to easily mount your binoculars to the top of a tripod head, allowing the tripod to support the weight of the binoculars and hold them pointed at a specific point for long term observations. This is especially useful for astronomy binoculars, which tend to be larger and heavier than daytime binoculars, and need to be pointed precisely without moving for longer periods of time.
The bracket is solid and well made, the two pieces fit together nicely and the thumbscrew holds the post into the bracket very well.
