I bought this exact same model just under a year ago and I love it. I bought it to keep my home clean and it does great. I have vinyl siding so the it's not too strong for my home but strong enough. I use ethanol free free. I've never had an issue with starting, stalling nor leaking.

I just picked this up today at our Sam's club here in Charleston, WV. Clearance sale for ..... are you ready? $149.91. You can change the oil in this engine which I would highly recommend doing each year. 2 ways to do this. Always have the water hose hooked up to it and the water turned on and run water through the wand to insure that you have water going through the pump. Never start one of these up without first being sure that it has water running through the pump. Start it up and let it run for a couple of minutes while spraying the water out of the wand. Spray it in the yard or on the driveway really anywhere. Shut the motor off, turn off the water going to the pump. Relieve the pressure from the wand, then disconnect the water hose and the pressure hose so that nothing is in the way. Have you a small pan setting next to the pressure washer, remove the dipstick from the oil fill and lay the pressure washer on it's side to drain the oil from the oil fill into the pan, Always dispose of the oil properly. 2nd option is to buy one of the small hand pumps that has a hose on the top and one on the bottom. Following the instructions that come with the pump put the suction hose into the fill/dipstick tube until it hits the bottom of the oil sump and put the other hose into a pan, a empty 2 liter pop bottle or what ever you have to use. With this method you can pump it out cold but preferably you should still warm up the engine as above, but let the engine cool down to the point that you can place your hand on the bottom of the engine where the oil fill/dip stick tube is attached to the engine. Be careful and do not get burned. I have found that if you let the engine set for 8 to 10 minutes after doing the above run time it will be cooled enough to do this. This method is the least messy but you do have to push and pull the pump handle to remove the oil while insuring that the discharge hose of the pump remains in what ever you are pumping it into. They sell these pumped at Harbor freight, Amazon, Walmart's etc. for around $10 Refill with new oil as recommended in the owners manual. Probably the best thing that you can do to keep this engine in top running condition is to use Sta-bil storage gas treatment. Follow the directions on Sta-bil to treat the gas for the amount of gas that your gas can holds whether its a 1, 2, 2 1/2 or 5 gallon gas can. Only use the amount called for and always use this when you get fresh gas from a gas station. Don't wait to add this do it as soon as you buy the gas. Regular grade gas is what the engine specifies in it's owners manual. Always make sure to remove the hose from the pressure washer and drain the pressure hose and never leave a water hose attached to the pump. Leave the on switch off and crank the motor a few times without starting it to blow out the water in the pump. You mentioned that the motor comes with a plastic carb, this is true, but they can be replaced. There's many videos here on youtube showing how to do this. A new carb cost around $20 from most small engine repair shops or online should the carb need to be replaced. If you follow these instructions and change the oil yearly or after every 25 hours this Briggs and Stratton engine should last a long time.

Sam's Club currently has this power washer on sale for $199.00. As far as the Briggs and Stratton is concerned, I am in my sixties and have never had issues with my Briggs and Stratton engines. I never changed the oil in my riding mover and ran it till it was out of oil. It started smoking so I ran and grabbed a quart of 10W40 that I had, poured it in the engine and it ran till I sold the mower 5 years later.

I just bought this today, works good for me as well, one question how do you use the soap option? Do I just fill the reservoir with soap and connect the soap adapter to the nozzle?
@mq28254 жыл бұрын
Also where do you connect the choke?
@SouthpawWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Every model is different. Some have a soap reservoir that you simply add the soap to and it will automatically mix with the water. Others have a tube that you would insert into your soap container and it will then mix the soap with the water. As far as the choke goes, most of these new engine have auto choke and auto throttle so you don’t have to worry about it.

I think as long as you take care of it, it should be just as good if not better than the one from my video. Most pressure washer failures are either a result of poor engine maintenance or failure to drain the water from the pump before winter. Good luck!

@SouthpawWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
For the price, it is a great pressure washer. I saw it went on sale at Sam’s. Definitely worth it. Most people want to split hairs about the differences between the various models, but as far as vertical shaft has-powered pressure washers go, this seems like a good buy. You will want to replace the pressure hose though. It is probably the worst thing about the unit.

My soap dispenser has hose coming out the back. Is that a siphon hose or what?
@SouthpawWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Some pressure washers do only provide a siphon hose instead of a container to pour your cleaning solution into. A lot of people prefer the siphon tube over the container because that way you use only what you need and don’t have to leave the remainder sitting in your pressure washer.

I just got mine Simpson mega shot 2800 psi with Honda engine. It came late so I got it ready but didn’t start it. It has a oil drain plug but my model ms 60773-s did not come with a soap reservoir. I’m kind of disappointed I thought it would have one. (Got on eBay 299.00. Free shipping ). It comes with a siphon hose but not sure how to use that. ? What carry a bucket with solution? Any hints ? I already bought gallon purple power power washer solution. I have a foam cannon can I just use that than use high pressure on the vinyl siding and deck. Any feedback welcome Thanks
@SouthpawWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
The siphon tube does drop directly into your soap container, eliminating the need for a reservoir. I actually prefer the siphon tube because a) you don’t have to keep filling a reservoir and b) when you are done using the soap, you just pull the siphon tube out whereas with a reservoir, if there is leftover soap, you either have to use it up or figure out a way to empty it out of the reservoir.
@scrumthebum24514 жыл бұрын
Thomas Lightle - Red Barn Woodworking Thanks for the reply. I’d rather have the reservoir because the north Side of my house is on a steep hill. I did use the syphon on the back deck.
