So..... The girls pretty much do the exact same thing that "ruined" Silico's life in the beginning of the episode, but didn't they say at the end of "Halt and Catch Silico" that they would try to be more careful? With assuming that this takes place after that episode, it just shows how much the girls actually learn.

One of my personal favourite reboot episodes. Scary as hell Blossom is still amazingly hilarious as it actually caught me off-guard...and it STILL gets me...but I understand why people think that it might be TOO nightmarish.

The out of character buttercup moment honestly has a pretty easy fix. If she quickly tried to play it off and act cool or save face and say something like "if you like that kind of thing" it probably would have worked better.

See, an episode like this would have been great to see in the first season to give new viewers a taste of the girls being CRIME FIGHTERS as well as how, even though they are sisters, conflicting ideas and goals can get in the way. Things like this happen and it doesn't matter what your age is, we've all had moments where we've had a little tiff with someone close to us because we think our way of doing something is better but in the end, it blows over and we come back only to realize how stupid the argument was to begin with. Reading through the comments there is one thing I have picked up on and it's that a lot of people are 'finally happy to see the girls fighting'. Seeing things like this, this far in, SHOUDLN'T be happening. Anyone who is familiar with the show shouldn't be saying they're 'finally' happy to see these characters fight because fighting should be their PRIMARY activity, not a secondary thing pushed to the side to make way for them to be more 'trendy', especially when being 'trendy' was never a thing that happened in the first and hasn't worked at all for the reboot. As always, great review seeing as your added commentary and actual humor make this more bearable to watch than the episodes themselves. Just prepare yourself. I know you're getting close to Muscelcup. Just....don't....hurt yourself after watching that. I also want to point out that the Lobster monster first shows up in Princess Buttercup as the creature Princess calls on the Monster Uber-like app so his appearance before that throws Halt and Catch Silico off even more. I guess the best way to hand wave him showing up often is that he's a re-occuring monster that just keeps showing up and destroying towns is his job. Either way, it makes you wonder if the crew just likes this guy or doesn't want to spend the time designing 'too many monsters' because this far into the show, just how many Kaiju type creatures HAVE the girls fought? THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MOMENT.

I guess this episode was a convenient time for them to all have smart phones.

Honestly, Splitsville is a perfect example of how this reboot can be good. This concept hasn’t been done even in the original, and this is a reboot that steals concepts from the original, which is why everything you just said, makes sense. This is why Splitsville is my favorite episode

Well, they did have an argument before in the original. One was where they fused together and couldn’t fight as one and another is where how they try and defeat a monster and bubbles kindly asked the monster to leave.

about the monster- they re-used the model. simple as that. I don't know what the time they have between design and animation. but the old one re-used some monster designs too but always avoided to use the same monsters in fights.

Yeah, I liked this episode and glad to see you kind of did too, relatively better than other episodes at least. Although I think there's a huge missed opportunity in the Bubbles scenes since she had to solve it by thinking, the Blossom way. A nice outside the box strategy is that only the farmer was uncomfortable with being flown across, which means that for everyone else, she still had an extra means of transport. For example, the first move, she could put the farmer and the goose on the boat and push it with enough momentum to cross the river(she should have the strength to after all) while flying across with the robber. I think that might make a way for the story to make more sense.

Honestly the more I see of your reviews, especially these Season 2 episodes, the more I'm... warming up to this reboot. This is the second of these season 2 episodes that I've actually thought about watching. If the show started off this... actually decent quality we've seen in season 2, then I don't think it would be nearly as "bad" as some people make it out to be, especially with the lack of memes and I say that as someone who grew up the original but did not like the later episodes like the girls getting a sunburn and someone who does like memes. Heck I kinda like how the girls all have their own phone so maybe more episodes of this calibur can happen. I don't care if it "not the original" because there can still be some good to come out of this reboot and this episoce shows that. Here's to hoping the next episode is also a good one!

Can I say that for once they didn't Censor the fight in this episode on Blossom's Snap moment... which in my opinion in wants to stand out next to Bubble's lvl 9 Monster Simulator challenge from the classic Powerpuff Girls.

I think I figured out the deal with Bubble's problem- namely that when you have three things you need to move across the river, you can't help but leave one of the things ALONE with the other: but I guess if she can only not leave one of the characters ALONE with one of the others, since the other entities prevent them from being "Alone"... … At least, that's just a thought, and honestly it makes the solution infinitely easier. (though I love the goose bitchslapping the fox) Also that robot look SO MUCH LIKE Mojo jojo, I'm honestly surprised he's NOT behind it in any way shape or form. I realize it's just a robot with a brain, and thats rather generic- but there are ways to do that sort of thing WITHOUT making it look like Mojo's head. And finally, as I was saying on twitter in mulling this over: I don't really think Buttercup would even know who Amelia Earhart was, given that all three girls can fly under their own power and wouldn't really be interested in aircraft too much as a whole: and even IF such a thing were to happen- Buttercup would probably be the one out of the three of them who wouldn't pay attention. I mean, I would think that the girls would know more about SCIENTISTS of both genders given the Professor probably knows a thing or two about SOMEONE and would most likely bring it up casually just through them being his daughters. (at least the OLD professor who didn't go gaga over mail order ham would have...) also a judge and a pilot have nothing to do with punching. review shadow-complished.XD

I haven't attended an elementary school in a long time, but I'm pretty sure they still teach kids the Dewey decimal system. Most public schools still use books as far as I'm aware, replacing everything with technology isn't cheap. PPG 2016 would be long forgotten by the time the Dewey Decimal system completely fades away.

honestly I'd thought the title spiltsville was a romantic comedy episode that dealt with one of the Powerpuff Girls getting a boyfriend and breaking up
