this is in my top 5 snes rpgs. i played it so many times via emulator in the late 90s, even completed it before the translation was 100% complete! great review!

Sooo I watched this when it was uploaded 28 mins prior, this would of been like 4am my time (I couldn’t sleep😅) & I felt you would go nuts I was commenting at 4am AEST 😂 Awesome video Shinky! Did you ever watched the 2 collab videos I did talking about Trials of Mana? Not gonna lie, I was like “oh is he going to mention me in the video?” 😂 Mainly cause I brought it up to you when you didn’t realise each story is a difficulty setting in the OG. You know I won’t have a preference as I LOVE both the OG & Remake version. The music is soooooo good! love it all, especially Meridan Child, Female Turbulence & Sacrifice Part Three. I hope you one day play the other 2 stories of this OG, just to really experience the difficulty difference…. But I guess you can just watch me on my streams instead 😂

Every time I see/hear about the Mana games, I keep thinking to myself I should try them out (besides Secret of Mana, which I have played/beaten and owned at one point). Maybe someday...

You must be talking about the werewolf enemies in Kevin's midgame dungeon. I get your frustration, but you have the option of ignoring them on your way to the end. And I totally get the frustration with the ??? Seeds and Weapon Armor seeds. Also, if you have the items or spells, you can stop healing spells with either as long as they execute the silence status.

@@Shinky I forgot about those. I've done three playthroughs and used Hawkeye in all three. He can do anything but heal or buff stats depending on your build for him, has a less broken 2 attacks per attack input schtick, PLUS his Luck stat increases the odds of acquiring rare items, including ??? Seeds earlier than intended. Also, Charlotte's Undead Away spell in her High Cleric Class was actually alot more useful in the original, too. A cheap screen nuke for undead enemies with lower levels than her. It even works on the Lich King if you grind enough. Also, grinding enough renders his death spell ineffective.

Interesting, I've loved Secret of mana since I was a kid and was so sad we didn't get this back then. I've been debating whether to skip to the remake, but since you need multiple play throughs to see everything might as well play both.

Yeah the playthroughs are like 80% the same but still worth playing. I’ve done 4 playthroughs of the remake (because it’s that good) but it was worth it!

This version has top tier pixel art and utilisation of mode 7. If one is abele to endure the stif combat and conveluted menus, it is worth it. Is Legend Of Mana next on the Road to Visions of Mana? It´s funny we both have cactus avatars. Lil' Cactus was a inspiration for mine.

I was only intending on doing the main series. But I might throw legend of mana in there if there’s time before visions. Dawn of Mana was going to be next

Great game and great review, very in depth and interesting. Too bad you picked the 2 less cool characters of the cast. Duran-Angela might be a bit generic but Hawk-Riesz is great. I'd put this in the top5 snes rpgs with CT, FF6, Earthbound and SMRPG

I wasn’t sure why I went with Kevin/Charlotte. Hawkeye/Riesz is easily my favorite though from what I’ve played in the remake

Ngl, I think you have a good voice, also no cussing, no vulgarity, just pure 🌵, is super respectable. Also is trials remake worth it on say, switch? Or should I focus on steam/ps4?

I try to be as wholesome as possible. The remake from what I understand is pretty good regardless of which console you play it on. Personally I’d suggest the PS4 or Steam for achievements. But switch is also good if portability matters =)

@@Shinky With the need for budgeting time and resources for my channel due to work,etc. Portability should help me because if I have even abit of down time, I can use that for whatever fluff I need to get through so when recording comes, I can get the important things instead. So for rpgs, which are difficult for me, the switch CAN be major for me, especially to improve my critical and creative skills for my channel. Also, Writing, like actual writing is vastly different from doing a research paper.
