Hi there everyone!
Since being announced, I have been quite excited about this model & have been impatiently waiting for it to arrive! ...it's the new V3 Explorer II homage with the Seiko NH34A GMT Movement.
The main differences between this new V3 model & the older V2 are:
40mm case size as opposed to 42mm on the V2
Shorter Hour & Minutes Hands, but, a longer GMT hand on the new V3
Different clasp design...more on that in the video....
BGW9 lume is now applied which makes it legible in low light
V3 now has Seiko NH34A which replaced the Pearl DG Movement on the V2
As this is a new model, there is a price premium but I have been advised by the store that there will be a "substantial discount" for the anniversary sale starting on Monday the 20th of March - If you are interested in picking one up then I got mine here - s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DnB...

The Seiko movement is a game changer. Great review. I have a v4 on order (bigger hands, AR, nicer/flatter lume in markers)..... The plan is to use this as my every single day watch. They may have nailed it. Update: V4 came today. AR, bigger hands, and running +2s/day!!!!!! Lume is better and is flat in the indices... Amazingly nice watch and strap/band. No issues. Great watch. To use very day and have lost any desire to drop 10k on a R.

Hi there, what clasp does the v4 have? And why is it cheaper on Ali than V2?

How's the lume? Is it evenly applied? And long lasting?

The V4 has a nicer off-white dial, but the cyclops drives you nuts, too much magnification. Also the clasp on the V4 bracelet is garbage, the V3 bracelet is better.

NIce review. I just bought the V2 today for $75 on Ali. Cant see spending $100 more for the V3. I would love better lume and a Chinese made Seiko movement instead of the Pearl (even though the Pearl rotor looks better through the exhib case back). But I prefer the V2's 42mm case of the original Rolex and I believe the V2 hands look closer to the Rolex too.

Thanks for a timely, spot on review. Keep cool in heatwave Sydney! I can't unsee short hands: 🦖until a fix. Finishing looks v. good. Lume looks OK: a great start. Yeah the subby clasp was the wrong choice. You've summed it up well, now enjoy your Sunday!

Thank you for the review. I’ve just received a PD 1662 Batman today from AE and in the week since I ordered it I’m on the lookout for my next PD watch ! Considering the latest version 1701 black dial to scratch that moon watch itch but I’ve also been looking at the Explorer 2 as it’s a nice looking watch too. 42mm is just too big for my wee 6 and something inch wrist so the latest version in 40mm is a contender. It’s great to see improved lume and AR coating !! Seems PD are just getting better and better. 😀 Thank you again and wear yours in good health.

V4 needs the press button clasp with tighter tolerances. Longer hour hand for sure. And more consistent lume on the indecies

I'd say it's good, female end links, reduced the size to 40mm for more wearability, better lume, no weak springbar on the clasp that you had to use to adjust it and then it breaks. The hand length is a bit bad and the price

I'm looking for a watch that has a regular clock like dial with the day and date and 24 hour numbers that also changes time automatically with different time zones. Do you have some recommendations?

I would say so...case dimensions are the same roughly and I am sure a movement spacer would resolve any other issues.

All good but I can't see why not a 42 mm as the model it homages. Well, I do, cost on one side and opportunity to make the "upgrade" later on.

Hi there, that lume looks pretty meh to me, or maybe it's just your camera? Yeah I'd rather have a 42mm case size as it's the same size as the Rolex and easier to read for older eyes. The finishing looks a little rough in places, but other than that not bad for the $ I guess. Good review!

Really frustrating that they had the hands perfect on the V2, but now they made them small again for the v3. Ruins the look of the watch for me personally.
