I must admit I'm surprised by how much the Avs are steamrolling the Jets. Don't quite have the star power but thought they were the better team, especially with their playoff style shutdown hockey, and giving up the least amount of goals in the regular season. Avs have scored 22 goals in 4 games against the best defensive team in the league / the best goalie in the league, that is ridiculous. Now I'm wondering how far the Avs will go, possibly to the cup final.

Watching the AVS try so hard to selflessly get the puck to Nichushkin for the Hattrick reminded me why I love this team. The recognition of how much he has done for them in this playoffs was amazing.

what's been impressive about COL isn't so much the offence, it's actually been the defensive clampdown imposed since game 2. coach bednar is dogwalking coach bowness. well done avalanche, the defensive play is going to serve you well going forward in the p-off's.

I love Q. Hughes. But when you see Cale Makar juke the opponents best defensive forward, weave through the best defensive team, and beat their Vezina caliber goalie far side, in a tight game…Cale is better.

Minor point, but can't let it be overlooked - Nuke didn't bury a rebound, it was a sick pass from Lehky. Lehky has been huge.

I think the Colorado Avalanche if they play as good as they played this series, are good candidates for winning the Stanley Cup this year. They look the sharpest and fastest of all the teams in the playoffs so far. I am curious how they will match up with the Vegas Golden Knights, last year's Stanley Cup champions. Going into this series, Georgiev was the biggest question mark for the Avs. Question mark no longer. The Jets look completely lost. Except for Game 1, the Jets have had no answer to the firepower of the Avs.

Comparing this to the initial series preview is a complete flip from peoples opinions on how this series will go. Avs just hit a gear that the Jets weren’t expecting. And I don’t even think this is their full potential. The depth lines have been working hard, even more than the top line at times who’s without Drouin.

I don't know about their logo in Colorado ? A triangle with a Chicago Cubs C ?😮 But they are playing great hockey.

As an Avs fan, before the series started, I picked the Jets in 6. Mainly because Georgiev vs. Hellebuck... yeah Lol

The only reason that wasn't called offside is because the NHL still uses 480p, 10 FPS cameras and you couldn't tell where the puck was because the potato quality was so bad. At this point, I have no idea why they don't have HD, 60 FPS cameras looking down the blue line from both sides and are synched together. There should also be one that looks straight down on the blue line from above.

With the AVS 1st line basically being an All Star Line, I think it is going to be difficult to stop them. And now, with the 2nd line producing as well. Look OUT, whoever they play next.

Well past 5 games for Hellebuyck an average of .870 save percentage, highest percentage of those 5 games was .872, sure the games aren't on Hellebuyck but he isn't being a solution either, seems like a total collapse from front to back.

I’m getting Deja vu from last year

What went wrong with the Jets? They just could not handle the speed of the Avalanche. Towards the 2nd and 3rd periods of each game except game 1, the Jets seemed to run out of steam. The Jets need to work on a lot of things - on their speed, puck possession, effective cycling of the puck through the neutral zone, effective forechecking - they seemed to do this well in game 1 but I noticed they stopped doing that in games 2, 3 and 4. The Jets also need to work more on blocking shots and intercepting passes. They also took many needless penalties which you cannot do against a fast team like the Avalanche. There was also too much reliance by the Jets on goalie Connor Helybchuk. I felt the Jets should not have used him after Game 3 and switched goalies for Game 4. Helybchuk should have also stayed in his goal, rather than retrieving the puck - this behaviour cost the Jets in game 3. Lastly, some of the lines should have been juggled up. Many of even the best Jets players like Mark Schiefele and Adam Lowry mishandled the puck passing it sometimes to Avalanche players, instead of other Jet players.

Black out at the next game for the Jets. Let the grieving commence!

Avs fan - While I'd said the Jets goal was probably offside, there wasn't a clear shot of it. The best angle they had was right down the line and it was impossible to tell where the puck was on the stick of the Jets player. I didn't understand all the people on Twitter who posted the same blurry photo where you can't even identify the puck talking about how "obvious" it was

Jets have hardly seen any daylight against the Avs this series - they have been outshot in all but 2 periods, the third period tonight and in game 2, both of which the Avs entered with a 3 goal lead. If it wasn't for the woeful goaltending and defensive mishaps in Game 1, this series would already be over. It all comes as a big surprise since the Avs looked very pedestrian down the stretch and the Jets seemed like a really solid team.

If we do well in the regular season next year, don't fall for it. Remember this feeling. I fell for it, thought we were going for the cup, but I didn't expect this. Congrats Avs, it's over in game 5. We're outmatched. Chevy needs to look at the roster and see how we can be built for the playoffs. Regular season success doesn't really matter as long as we make it.

That off side goal was close. From what I could see the skater in question had his ankle on the blueline when the puck entered the zone. I wanted Georgie to get the shutout, but technically that play was onside. However I've seen similar calls go the other way. The video review is never consistent.

The Avalanche were very underrated coming into the playoffs due to a weird last 10 games. They are playing in a way that should make them clear favorites to come out of the west, this should’ve been a sweep but their goalie had an off night. Winnipeg just doesn’t have it
