I'm with you until the last bit: I think the same thing happening in back to back playoffs reflects on the coach. I can't find the quote from after this year's playoffs, but he admitted not changing how his team played over the course of the series, and it showed in how his teams played. Once their opponent figured them out, they lost four straight in back to back years. You can win in the regular season with good players, but you need good coaching to win in the playoffs. I think was a fine coach, but their post-season failures are at least partially at Bowness's feet. It'll be interesting to see what a new coach can do because as you said, there's talent there.

Anyone else notice the guy who is going to win the Norris Trophy isn't the best defenseman on his team? He didn't see the ice a single time in the last 3 minutes when the Oil had their goalie pulled.

Ever since we picked up Luongo, Canucks fans have been spoiled by the fact that we have such raw talent in goal, that's able to be guided and mentored by Ian Clark. He's by far THE best goalie coach in the NHL.

This game is very similar to game 2 of the regular season. I allowed myself to believe in the Jets with Helle again this year. I cannot believe in the playoff Oilers with Skinner.

The shots on goal counter is way too inconsistent... Funny because I was focusing on it. It wasn't just against the Bruins, for both teams they would count a shot far wide as a shot on goal, but a shot that hit the goalie pads as not a shot. If the stat is widely inaccurate, why does everyone sit there and point at it? Bruins scored, but it didn't count as a shot on goal??!!? How does that work?

Wings fans have a long history of being infuriated with goalie interference calls. Holmstrom didn't even need to touch a goalie to get a call against him.

If every game has bad officiating, no game has bad officiating.

There's a subset of fans who are easily influenced by announcers who are over the top homers. They think their team loses only when bad calls or bad puck luck happens. Bruins fall into that category. It sucks when the subset goes after Shannon.

I think the stress of having 3 teams he roots for in the playoffs is getting to shannon haha

You said what teams would get pushed because of markets and money and returnable fanbase. You were right and its sickening to watch. Imagine if the ref skated to center ice after speaking to Toronto and said "After video review it was determined that Boston's goaltender was caught lacking even if the player wasn’t there and it would've gone in anyways therefore we have a goal"

It's not the players that are losing this game it's Skinner he sucks he can't stop pucks if he life depended on it. He is not a playoff goalie. He will lose the series for the Oilers and I don't care what any Oiler has to say.
