Reviewing the 1/18 Chevrolet Caprice Classic (1987) by Model Car Group (MCG)

In my hunt for a land yacht I came across this redone 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic by MCG. However, their models are a bit of a hit and miss in terms of quality control as this is my 2nd model, but I am happy with this one.
Pros:
- price (especially compared to 1/18 BoS or even 1/43 NEO models that are more expensive)
- beautiful tail lights; no real pegs on the head lights or indicators
- wire wheels with detailed spokes
- it's a black land yacht from the late 80s, classy looking mob car :D
Cons:
- sealed diecast
- no undercarriage detail
- wheels roll, but front wheels do not swivel

Oh man I owned the real thing back in 1990.My Caprice was a 1987 Caprice Classic series with two-tone burgundy with burgundy interior with a factory Olds V8 . What MEMORIES ….

in the years 1970 to 1989 you can see that we were in love with squares, just look at us, for example, Polonez 1500 big fiat or konstal 105n and ikarus 260 and ikarus 280

Just ordered one of these beautiful models. Would love to get a model of a Brougham LS in dark blue like the real thing that is sitting in the garage. I love American full size sedans of the late 70's through late 80's. Great review by the way👍

nice caprice ill cant wait get one in black wow 81 cadillac fleetwood sell 500 wow ill glad mine it came from American excellence $129 plus to sent 135. and have in black cadillac ill have red caprice and also round body 97 ss impala and taxi. you your caprice well. man beautiful car was in days was poplar car in police taxi undercover cop car in black too bad not much detail undercarriage had put efforts on it detail

@@cluricaun78 yeah, I heard they're pretty rare. Something amazing to me was when I was looking up American cars from the 60s thru to the 90s I only recently found out how so many look similar to each other within the same generation or era because theyre all GM subsidaries. For example this Caprice also resembles the LTD Crown Vic from the 80s, with a few differences regarding grille, badging and indicator.

It would be nice to swap the hubcaps from the police car to the caprice classic. They didn't have the pin striping on the detective police models. My father had won and we had the chevy 350 V8 engine 5.7 leader with a torsion bar rear suspension. I think and 87 it would have had individual sealed beam headlights not the1990 block version

The 1987 and 1990 both had the same headlights 86 had individuals I know because I own them

@@timtaylor1483 I saw this Yugo at a train museum in Illinois. I have always liked this car when I was younger my dad took me to the auto show in Chicago and we saw a Yugo convertible in red that was quite stunning, With a great interior.

Fun fact: Apart from its resemblance to the Gen 6 Impala, this Gen 3 Caprice also looks a lot like the Ford LTD Crown Victoria, Pontiac Parisienne and Bonneville from the 80s and, to a lesser extent, the Dodge Diplomat and Plymouth Gran Fury

damn. i just checked and the website that used to make them (american excellence in the US) seems to have sold out. Keep checking back though, they might restock in a few months. Otherwise keep checking ebay, although currently some dudes are selling it for way overpriced rates (retail used to be 70 USD), the police version seems to still be available.
