I wanted to minimize the amount of coffee gear I buy, so it took me a while to decide which flat bottom brewer I wanted. I'm happy with choosing the B75 as my first and only flat bottom brewer. Now I can simply focus on buying good coffee and mastering the one brewer.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the performance of this dripper is!! specially with orea recipes or coffee with April recipes

Agreed 1000% on the kettle height thing. I tried to train my hands to do level with the pouring I found the cups I been brewing to be so much more predictable.

so much more affordable than orea and april. been planning to get orea or april for faster flow rate but the price is crazy for a plastic. Timemore B75 is the best bang for buck dripper.

I bought my B75 yesterday at WOFEX event. Tried this morning and I agree on all what you've mentioned. I think this is going to be my daily driver method for now. I've been using V60 for long but will settle in for the meantime brewing on a flat bottom dripper.

I have this B75 brewer for over a month as well and im actually enjoying it. Sometimes I get the middleground of body and clarity. Like extracting the good stuff. This is a quality product from time more and a much forging brewer.

I'm new to your videos, and i really like your clear and concise explanations as well as the solid advice amd reasoning. I have the B75 and really enjoy using it. My favourite results have been when using a cloth filter and a recipe of 13g to 200ml in 4 pours every 30 seconds. First two pours have a wdt stir, the 2nd two pours are with a mellodrip reaulting in sweet but complex cups.

Hi there! Thank you for the kind words :) we appreciate your support. Interesting approach! May I know what cloth filter you are using?

Thank you! I'm using same as for V60 recipe with same grind settings on a C40 MK3 20-22 clicks and it's just as amazing. A bit different taste profile but very delicious

Just ordered one myself. after all discounts it was less than 6 euro's Which is a outright steal, if you compare it to its normal price.

Okay, you've "influenced" me to get a Kono, a Gabbi Master B, and now a B75 (and bags of expensive coffee of course). Before discovering your channel I really believed I was all set with my coffee stuff. I appreciate your channel and what you're doing for the local specialty coffee scene, but my wallet hates you. :p I suppose after years of using cone drippers, it's time to try my first flat-bottom. I'm still searching for the sweet spot with it but I see the potential. Anyway, thank you for making me coffee-rich (even if poorer in other ways).

Happy to be a part of your coffee journey! It's a never ending quest to find and make better cups of coffee but the process itself is tons of fun. Cheers!

Thank you for sharing the pouring technique and we shouldn't pour water in a crash but change to pouring water in a circular motion.

I have the B75 and the OREA v3. I think if someone isn't interested in bypass brewing the B75 is just as good. I probably actually the design of the B75 a little bit better. I like the ribs for the filter and the wider opening on the B75. The filter to me just fits nicely. I think the Kalita filter fits a bit odd on the OREA. I did have a couple questions on your technique in the video. So are you not doing a bloom? So something like: 0 Sec 50 gram circle pour Transition to 50 gram center pour 45 Sec repeat above What would be a typical drawdown time? I haven't tried a two pour. Really interested to try it.
@wideawakeph3662
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
Yes that's right that's the technique! I prefer using well rested coffee that's at least 3 weeks old when I brew so there's no need for that bloom! I'm usually at around 2min15 to 2min 30 seconds :)

@@wideawakeph3662I got a chance to try this technique this morning! I've been into coffee for less than a year. I guess I always thought more pours equals better. I really enjoyed the cup from this technique! My drawdown was right at 2 minutes. I was around 6.3 on my K-Max. I may play with grind settings later but I am pretty happy with the results. Thanks for sharing this!

I've been waiting for a nice alternative to the Kalita Wave. Not a fan of non-plastic brewers plus the Kalita Wave has that issue of sometimes clogging. Highly considering this brewer! Also, just a coincidence that I just bought your Peru coffee as well.

How do you find this compares to the April brewer?
@Nole2701
@Nole2701 Ай бұрын
Go finer for darker roast? Isn't it the other way around? You're gonna get so much bitterness going fine with darker roasts. And if you go coarse with light roasts, you won't extract much flavours at all.

Have you experienced staining at the bottom of the dripper? Mine stained after a brewed on it for around a month. How'd you prevent it if not
@wideawakeph3662

Yes, it has stained a bit after continuous usage. I'll try soaking in hot water + baking soda / coffee cleaning solution!!

How does it compare to the Origami Air S? I've tried the Origami on a couple cafes and really enjoyed it, but haven't had the chance with the B75, I'm curious about how they differ

45 on ZP6 - is that 0.4.5? That seems pretty coarse. Is that what you usually use? Pretty new to mine Just tried 4.5.0 with Aprils recipe. Second pour I finished by 45s and it finished draining by 1m15s

This is considered a faster brewer than a v60 or an april?

Haven't tried the April brewer yet. It's still slower than a V60, but has a rather fast flow rate for a flat bottom dripper

Hi, would you be able to translate those zp6 clicks to comandante c40?
@wideawakeph3662
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, we can't because not all C40 grinders are calibrated the same way. You may try using your usual settings that you would call medium to medium fine for a 14g dose and then go 2-3 clicks coarser as your starting point!
