Good video, Tomy was a range I had nothing of growing up so I have no nostalgic connections with it. I did try to get into it a few years ago but with frequent mechanical problems and lack of interest after a while, I gave all that I had away. I've mainly just stuck with TWR and Ertl only, with a little Take Along as well

Thank you! ❤️ And EXACTLY, the issues with the engines is a turn off at times. The tomy commercials are pretty insane though. Ertl is a solid range, there's just so much Thomas merchandise to go through. 🙌

This was my very first Tomy Thomas set and I still have almost all the components except the signal as well as the original Thomas model because it got old and broke down. Excellent review btw! 😊👍

I wish I was born. When tomy was still around. I was born on Trackmaster/ hit toys came about. It just gets me very nostalgic.

Don't feel too bad, you could've been born during Trackmaster "Revolution". At least early Trackmaster used the Tomy molds and chasis.

you might want to crack open the mechanism and grease it up in there too. after all these years the residue they put on in the factory has likely gone bad

it probably has a broken gear or a loose gear, cuz i have a lady i bought from ebay the gear was broken, so i replaced the wheal with another engines wheal until i got enough money to buy a new one.

Love this video and ive always wanted that bridge! A recommendation though try getting your hands on a talk n action engine i bet you will love it. ps the reason thomas dosent run well is because his gear is cracked and slipping

Nice video, but I sort of disagree, the motor and gears can be replaced to improve performance by a lot

If they easily can be replaced then I'm 100% wrong. I had no idea people replaced them!

@@SodorProductions well I won’t say it can be easily replaced, you do need a decent idea on how the motor capsule works and the actual replacement motor or gear, and yes, there are whole channels that dedicate on fixing these motorised engines

@@SodorProductions Hi, I’m a bit of tomy mechanic. Fixes are pretty simple. Sometimes just opening up the motor casing and spinning the motor can make it run smoother. For your problem, I would recommend putting a bit of over the axle hole. I’ll make a community post on my channel showing what I did when I had a similar problem.

“Putting a little bit of electrical tape over the axle hole” I also have to disagree with you with running conditions, I have had engines where I had to take sand out of the motor and it then worked pretty good.
