Thank you for leting is see this amazing collection, layout and last but not least the great stories that let us still like this series with these talking trains. Usually I start at tidmoth sheds (mostly because I own the wood version and its hard to line up with the wooden railway track) and after that I usually connect to knapford and tidmoth transfer yard stuff, after that I make the yards for knapford, which usually consists of 3 track switches and 3" 5' switches, my electric chargin station, and my really usefull engine shed, afterwords I start on the branchline and the mainline, the branchline is usually a combination of all the branchlines on sodor, they also usually go in the first and second level on gordans hill wih the second level connecting to mr. Jollys chocolate factory. maron is usually the last thing I put on the mainline before connecting with the branchlines and tidmoth sheds to complete the full loop.

When I was a kid, the first Thomas Wooden Railway set I got was the Stop and Go Figure 8 set. I always started with the arched stone bridge and TBH sometimes I would get creative and mix tracks, tunnel and bridges with my old Brio set.
@SodorProductions14 сағат бұрын
That sounds like fun! That's also a great starting set by the way.

I havent had access to any of my TWR stuff for a while after a hosue move, but, generally I used to kind of think big picture, trying to create a loose representation of sodor as a whole. So id try and create a main line loop, a branchline loop, maybe two, some kind of shed and shunting yard, and maybe a few specific destinations. I really love having cranky on a layout so brendam docks was always an inclusion somewhere 😂
@SodorProductionsКүн бұрын
Using Sodor as the loose track plan is always a good choice!

I start with sheds yard and Main station then move out I usally have Tidmouth with turn table off a switch with three sidings for coaches and trucks after that its build what ever i feel like
@SodorProductionsКүн бұрын
That's a solid start!
@ww082 күн бұрын
I usually lay out where I'm gonna put the bigger locations, likr knapford, the sheds, the docks, Gordon’s hill, etc, then start connecting the pieces, I just make sure I don't have a line that's stuck ina single loop. If I'm not building a strict layout, I usually start with a complex piece, and start from it (pieces with lots of outs: knapford station, Henry's tunnel, the mountsin tunnels, new style search and rescue center, etc)
@SodorProductionsКүн бұрын
That's a good idea man, all the destinations and their complex connections take so much time if you don't plan!

I don't have a lot of track, most of the time i just make a 3 way track as terminis, 3 way shed close and i make a small loop, 2 lines is the mainline, 1 track the branchline
@Pikmin2Fan20102 күн бұрын
Usually I would make it like the island of sodor layout. So I would make it there is afew sidings near tidmouth sheds and then a small straight going into a tunnel. And then I would place a knapford like , 3 tracks away from the tunnel.

Sadly I've never built a Thomas Wooden Railway layout since I don't have enough pieces to do so. However I have enough knowledge to know that people usually start with Knapford or Tidmouth.

The Ivo Hugh and the zoo car pack is definitely one of the weirdest out there but I will admit it's not that bad as I can definitely think of worse. Then again it didn't help that they literally redesigned and re-released them again in 2009. In a different review of this pack I think it was safe to say they threw in the zoo cars just to sell Ivo Hugh or the other way around. I am glad we got Ivo Hugh but it's a shame that I was at the suspense of a pack that I don't think not many people will want. That's why I bought just Ivo Hugh on eBay a couple years ago. But overall a pretty good review and I can't wait to see more videos in the future keep up the good work man!

Great video, and I agree that ‘02 was the start of TWR’s decline. Personally, ‘92-‘03 are the best years -with some good models scattered throughout later on. They also could’ve released Ivo Hugh with a red clay car, cause they had a special pack with Neil and the green clay car in ‘01 I believe
