One of my favorite moments with the Sixaxis was when I set it down one time, it pressed the trigger in, and stab Patches in the face while playing Demon's Souls. Those triggers really were terrible.

Yongyea feels like a reviewer that just reads Reddit and goes with the most popular view. I stopped watching him a while back. Cant lose subs is what his channel is about. This guy (ReviewTechUSA) has more honest and true reviews.

He really doesn't bring out too many opinions and only goes over the current news situations. I can say that he just parrots whatever news is out for the day but so does 99% of KZfaqrs.

I personally haven’t had an issue with the DualShock 4 battery that I can remember tbh, I mean I haven’t had too many long or extended gaming sessions aside from playing Spider-Man when it released or Ghost of Tsushima over the summer, but I’ll play a few Call of Duty matches, PGA majors, Tony Hawk levels or NBA games and forget to plug the controller in after I’m done and it’ll last me sometimes a week or longer without plugging it back in, but I guess that’s just me from hearing what other people have been saying

I'm not going to miss that lol. That was one of the first things I noticed when I first got a PS4 since I had been playing PS3 for awhile. The PS3 controller is a beast when it comes to how long a single charge can last you.

No battery test rich? For me personally so far ps3 is still the longest lasting controller maybe DualSense improves but we gotta wait to test it out with ps5.

Personally for me I've found the dualshock 2 to be the longest lasting controller. Never had to recharge it and I've had it for at least a decade

The duelsense does work on the PC by default. Waiting for official steam compatibility for it before I get it. However, I absolutely love love love the dualshock 4 for PC gaming. I tried switching to an Xbox controller because it was simpler to use for gamepass instead of having to install DS4Windows, but I just couldn't do it. There was no heft or weight to it. Not to mention I really do prefer inline sticks instead of inverted

honestly as well, if they came out and said "We are bringing our past into the future, digital PS5? You can play all of your ps3 digital purchases, disc PS5? All of your discs you kept? They work now". Even if MOST people don't use it, it would win them so much favour!

Man, backwards compatibility with anything before PS4 would be amazing. I know the current PS boss said no one wants it but most people I've talked to do. PS2 and 3 were so convenient with that and the 3 upscaled games and gave you graphical options to boot!

It’s definitely a different feel compared to the DS4. Personally I like the DS4 a little better in terms of comfort, but the Dualsense is still better in quality because of the haptic feedback and especially USB-C

I have medium-small hands and I've always "had" to use a "index on trigger" grip with every controller I've ever used. I recently got a dualsense controller and I was amazed by the fact that the most intuitive and comfortable way for me to hold the controller is by resting the middle fingers on the triggers and the index fingers on the "bumpers". Obviously there are many different ways of holding a controller, and it's mostly up to personal preference which you prefer, but being able to rest separate fingers on both the bumpers and triggers at the same time is objectively superior to just using one finger for both. For me and my hands the ergonomics of the dualsense are astonishing.

I held a Dualsense and also found that I slightly still preferred the dual shock 4 but it’s not a substantial preference it’s like the difference between an 8 and an 8.5

You can argue that Rich has had a lot of slow news days since the pandemic began tbh, there’ll be news sometimes that he just doesn’t hop on either, but so many KZfaqrs have been doing reviews or talking about the DualSense without using it on a PS5 tbh, only good DualSense videos I’ve seen were YongYea’s video or the two videos from Spawn Wave on the controller

The Dual Sense does take a little from the Boomerang controller. Those shape controllers are very comfortable. I had one for my PS2.

Facts, there seems to be more of a divide with people when it comes to the DS4 vs the Dualsense then the DS3 vs DS4 when the PS4 first came out. I think they should continue to make DS4 controllers for those who prefer it to the Dualsense

last great playstation contrler imo. hate shorter sticks and weight balance on ds4, love closer face button placements on ds3. ds3 is also a last controller with pressure sensetivity on all buttons, including dpad and all triggers.

Rich, the ps3 had native Bluetooth for pretty much any third party controller . PS4 they stopped this and restricted Bluetooth so you had to buy officially licensed controllers.

I'm not saying they shouldn't make it work with the PS4 but considering the games are backwards compatible with the PS5, naturally they wouldn't think anyone would want to use the new tech on old hardware outside of review/curiosity purposes. It's an understandable oversight.

It's funny cause my lil brother uses the triggers like you do (with your pointer fingers) but I almost always, depending on the game, keep my pointer fingers on the bumpers & my middle fingers on the triggers.

hmm, for the bumper I usually put my middle finger on L2/R2 and index finger on L1/R1 so I dont move my index finger between L2 & R2, I think thats why you feel strange moving your finger between L2 & R2, while I assign different finger to those 2 bumper

Instead of swapping between the buttons with long movements you could rest your fingers in between the triggers and bumpers and easily shift weight between the two buttons

There is no "Home" button on the PS5 controller which isn't a problem for the PS3 and PS5, but it breaks a lot of things on the PS4. Hence why that controller does not work on the PS4.

I wish gyro aim was more prominent on PlayStation games considering that ps3 PS4 and ps5 controllers have gyroscopes. Gyro aim is so much better than aiming with a stick

Ive never understood gamers who make their index fingers travel from R1/L1 to R2/L2. I mean, my index is for R1 and L1 while I use my middle fingers for R2/L2. Especially in games like Cod. I play the tactical setup, so that would shave precious milliseconds off my aim

pulled out my calipers. the sticks on the ps4 and ps5 controller are both 18mm wide. I agree there is tension in my hands going from L2 to L1 and it's more comfortable on the ps4 controller going between the shoulder buttons.

Interesting concept of how people use the R1/L1 and R2/L2 Buttons. Notices you were going back and forth with your pointer finger. I tend to keep my point fingers on the R1/L1 and have my middle fingers reach for the R2/L2 Triggers.

My assumption with the tension on the sticks is games are gonna take more precise movements and gives you more free movement

I personally always preferred the smaller DualShock 3 (they eventually released a dualshock 3 later in PS3's lifecycle) to the larger dualshock 4. Also didn't like the touchpad.

You forgot to mention that the dualshock 4 was probably the worst poorly made controller Sony has ever made. Very poor quality. I must have been through 7 controllers in the PS4's lifespan. And I'm going to go and say...I suspect Sony did this on purpose to sell more controllers. I can't even begin to tell you how many times the analogs broke on me. Or even the trigger buttons. And I don't play as much as I used to.

Lair was a good game. The devs begged Sony to let them include a non-Sixaxis mode.
