I polished the frets on mine, smoothed out fret ends and rounded the fret board edges until it was smooth as silk, feels very expensive. Also my neck is straight as an arrow and action is so low, this guitar for whatever reasons allows ridiculously low action. Glad I did it I was planning to just give it away.

Still have my 1st electric, 1990 Epiphone 310 plywood strat. Ran it through a Fender M80 head and Lab Series L5 combo.

I have this guitar & I love it! I did do a bunch of mods though. I bought Fender locking tuners, 500k pot’s because it came with 250’s & changed out the pickups with Duncan’s all the way! JB in the bridge & Hot Strats singles. What a difference, Now it’s a Metal Machine 🤘🏻

I think you should totally mod this guitar. It’s a good platform to play around with. Since the neck plays nicely and the quality is up to snuff I think it’ll be a fun project.

Squire strat through a pignose stack. That was the derogatory term for ass tone when I started.

Those pignose amps are actually one of Matt Pike's secret weapons. He reamps into a pignose and tracks a guitar track with one to layer into his guitar sounds for High on Fire sometimes.

Fuck yeah some old school blink 182?! Nice... Hey thats a cool guitar. I've decided long ago that if I ever get a strat it will be an hss and this color. But I'm some sort of name brand gatekeeper and there's no way I'd buy a squire. Even though I know squire makes killer stuff and in some cases better than fender. Idk why I'm like that, maybe its my aspergers. Maybe shiny expensive things make my eyes twinkle. Maybe I'm poor for a reason. Lol

@@kylebull2 Oh i know it bro. The real eye opener for me is my uncle purchasing like 8 or 10 firefly guitars. Dude, they are legit. Out of all of them, one had a single fret that wasn't seated quite enough.. the rest of them are just well made through and through. Fit and finish is just as clean as my guitars. I would still pick my schecters any day but for people on a budget Fireflys are amazing! Hunter (Agufish) said something in his latest post that was just well worded. And Im probably about to botch it. Something about how these newer age budget guitars are stepping it up in quality and that makes learning to play easier thus not running off potential new players after 2 weeks of playing some crappy guitar. Jeez I hope I reworded that well enough it still makes sense. He was talking about roasted maple necks on Ibanez's new geo series and the added tuning stability gained from roasted maple. Sry i suck at wording stuff. I've never tried a roasted maple neck and would love to. But I have never much enjoyed the flat fretboard of ibanez. For me at this point, its an asthetic and neck complex . I acknowledge there are awesome budget guitars but I really like the looks of one certain brand and the neck feel of them. Now I'm just stuck. Lol at least I'm self aware about it. Lolololol I do have a couple really nice LTD's that I just can't jive with the necks on them. I wish I could love my ec1000. Its sexy as hell but that damn neck just throws me off. It just stays hanging up.
