I disagree. I read Secret Wars without reading any of Hickman's Avengers run and I loved it! Then I read the run leading up to it and then Secret Wars again, and it made me realize that it was the best damn universal reboot in comics since COIE.

You should read ultimates from hickman and shield also by hickman.. Payment is much bigger... And of course ff from hickman.. P. S. I have bought avengers world complete collection... Fit very nicely with hickman avengers and was written by him, Spencer and other... I am hickmaniac🙂🙂🙂😉

I really liked secret wars (didn't find it too hard to understand) If you find secret wars too confusing, Scott Snyders Justice league Vol. 1 is probably the most confusing book ive ever read. I read the vol.1 twice (I even went back to previous issues) but still found it super confusing.

There were soo many tie in books it would most likely be two Omni's, but right now theres just a tpb and ohc of the run.

I didn't read the Avengers/New Avengers and I still loved it. Then I went back and read his entire run and then Secret Wars, and it was even more epic!

@@GemMintCollectibles It's the last "Ultimate" story, Bendis wrote it and said it fits inside Secret Wars, but it's also it's own event, so it reads as an event inside an event lol. It's only about 5 issues I think.

I found it, apparently it goes Secret Wars 1-4, then Ultimate End 1-4, Secret Wars 5-9, and lastly Ultimate End 5. What a mess haha.

There are elements in this created by the '84 Secret Wars. The Beyonder, Doom as a God, Battleworld, Molecule Man. I gotta say though, the way Doom was defeated here was a lot better than the original, which was cool, but not as epic.

Doom's arrogance being is downfall has been a character trait since the 60s. Doom feeling inferior to Reed has been established since at least the early 70s. I feel like Hickman really got Doom and Reed as characters and their rivalry

@@RedFrog_ definitely, but Secret Wars was supposed to be a conclusion to his 77 issue Avengers run, instead we get a culmination of Doom/Reed relationship. I really liked that but to have it be a conclusion to just that doesn't sit right with me.

@@taehametariq9120 I loved it. Doom admitting at the climax and accepting that Reed was better than him was amazing! One of my favorite Dr. Doom stories ever.

The rumors is that Secret Wars will be a trilogy... which makes sense for that big a story.

Core movie perhaps. I think it would be a wasted opportunity to not partner any outlying productions to it.

3rd actually, there was a sequel to the old one just called Secret Wars II in the late 80s. Personally I prefer OG one.

Just found out about this as well: 'Beyond!' from 2006. It's a sort of successor to the Secret Wars I & II series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond! I want it. Still have my Secret Wars I & II collection from the mid-80s. I'm tempted to get the one you reviewed above, Gem Mint, b/c I love Ribic's art. Are you familiar w/ his Loki series/hardcover? personally I just read the main series in single issues. There are 3 hardcovers...road to which would be first, then the main story, then rising... honestly, in comics, i dont think it matters if you read tie ins simultaneously or after the fact. Reading them after the main story just lets you know what happened between issues
