I love my Mark 23. It is fun to shoot - especially suppressed (obviously). I never thought I'd pay $2k+ for a pistol since I am more into rifles, but this beauty re-wrote my rule. Oh and tons of overtime helped pay for it - ha ha.

@@davidcollins6164 No, you're wrong. They did another run - this is pretty well known unless you really don't know much at all, which seems to be the case with you. I'm not too proud to admit I started drooling over the MK23 because of Metal Gear Solid, back when I was a teenager. My first Airsoft was a MK23 and I loved that thing; a shooting buddy of mine had one and I got to put some rounds through it on a couple of occasions. While huge, it fit my hand well and I was floored by the accuracy; I was putting down groups at 50yd that I struggled with other pistols at 25yd. The only pistol I've ever owned that has shot even remotely close is a Glock 34 that I picked up a few years ago. I just put down a very large amount of money to pick up a MK23 with the maritime finish(which they stopped making in 2005), a healthy supply of mags, and that rare camo soft case; it is the single most expensive firearm I have ever purchased. I'm so incredibly excited to put this beast through its paces.

The Mark23 has become a special firearm for me its like an old friend that I just like to have around and nothing really could take its place. I carry it in the wisconsin winter in a old school size Large soft IWB holster and I can really get a good grip when drawing from the holster with gloves on because of the big trigger guard. The feel when I rack the slide is like no other because of the heavy duty recoil system and its like you can feel the reliability when you shoot it if that makes any sense . The stippling on it makes you feel like you are back in the 90's like shooting a carbine with a carry handle.

I love my Mark 23! Soft recoil, accuracy durability, and all of the other accolades you and Fox mentioned I wholeheartedly agree with. Two things to note. There is an adapter available that allows a standard weapons light to be installed. I have a Stream 10 light/laser combo on mine that performs very well. Also, it uses a standard thread pitch so I had no problem putting a Rugged Suppressor on on, unlike my HK 45 Compact which uses reverse threads and required a separate adapter. It's even more of a pussycat when suppressed and everyone needs to be able to experience that pleasure! The bigger problem is finding a good holster for it. Definitely a range toy, but oh so fun. Thanks for the great video featuring one of my very favorite pistols!

In this case I have an MK23, but last week decided I would sell it to move on to some other options. It's a good gun... I love the looks and feel of it. Maybe I'll hold on to it a bit more?

Don't sell it. I'm (sorta) in the same boat as you, except I've never even fired mine. Normally, I'd say "give it time, they'll quit importing them", but given they sell these for about USP Elite (which is itself 2X the cost of a VP9), and even factoring lower run numbers, their profit margin percentage on this gun has to be multiples of what they get out of the rest of their handgun line.
@SquallWulfhart

@OFFICIALUND I actually just sold my VP9 too lol. Nothing wrong with it exactly, but the way I grip the pistol can cause some slide locking issues. I suppose I could have learned a different grip, but I don't want to change my style just to suit one gun. I highly recommend them though, they just feel sturdy for a polymer pistol and the trigger is great imo. I've got no experience with the USP line though.

Its interesting that all MK23 have those wear marks on the "ejection window", dont know the english name for it. I guess it is because of the coating process and because the tighter tolerances compared to other kind of duty pistols. The first models had the salt water coating all over the slide, i guess the later ones only at the ejection window, i would like to see a 2024 version. Of course there is a reason to buy the MK23 these days, it has a better quality and precision, its an icon and the long size is not bad for 25m precision shooting, in combination with a lighter trigger and the P7 sights its not bad.
