Many moons ago my Grandfather built this pair of speakers featuring Sansui tweeters and soundesign full range drivers as midranges, and they've been sitting easily over 20 years in storage. Let's make them make noise or something.

Hope some of my friends from Highschool still have some speakers that I made them when we were in school. 70's was the craze.

That's really cool, Your grandfather sure put an honest attempt in and id try not to mess with the look of them on the outside but maybe adding a piece of wood to the inside to make L ports out of them slots

Hadn’t thought of the L port idea. That would actually be a pretty rad way to try improving them.

Hi! When I was young we had not enough money to buy a sound system, so we built speakers with some recycled drivers and plywood. Of course, we didn't know much about acoustics, impedence and the rest but it was still fun to listen to our own creation! To help the sound of your speakers a bit of damping material will help deaden the cabinet a little. Great video! Thanks !

I don't speak English and that's why I use a translator to comment, but your videos are interesting, I watch them with the automatically generated subtitles translated into Spanish so I can understand something.

Maybe add some L-pads so you can turn down the volume of that mid-range driver. beautiful job on the jigsaw for those holes haha.

Not a bad idea. Wouldn’t be too hard to add something like that around the back of em. That jigsaw work definitely looks like some of my first speaker builds haha

and a beefy amp and seal the sound desising ones so they dont bottom out and then itd sound really great bro

itll sound better if you wire the tweeter in normal polarity the highs are muflled plus the bass isnt hitiing low enough

you could push em harder if you seal the sound desin ones like i said use duct tape on the back and eq it rreall good liek a v scoop those imids boost bass treble itll sound great i know how to work with what ive got just giving u my two cents

i mean with a custom crossover they might sound decent.

I think the biggest improvement I’ve found off camera was plugging those openings. Stuffed some socks in them and the bass response became way better. Would definitely be a fun project to build some crossovers to reign in the “midrange” and tighten things up a bit better

@Murrtallica oh, yes that makes sense. Adding some sound dampening might also add some low end extension.

nah the crossver is fine needs better eq pius sound desin speaker need to be sealed seprately so u can get those woofers moving at lower frequencies and maybe some polyfill and liek that guy said l pads

the sound desin needs to be sealed sepratly bro so the woofer doesnt blow the sound desin full range apart and u could seal the back with duct tape

@@ironnickel9266 haven’t really gotten the chance to hear the Coral full range speakers myself. I have a bunch of Coral drivers lying around from a recent speaker gut though that I’m itching to put back into service

@@Murrtallica You Should before the outer Suspension gets hard like Mine These Inverted-Surround Cloth-Suspension Speakers need to be Used Frequently or else they lose their Resilience
