This is Hazrat Hamza! Not only a person of my devotion, he himself is an entire institute where I find my peace. Seriously, Shyakh Hamza is the pride of humanity. No matter what his religion is, undoubtedly he's the single-most true being who's continuously rising hope in this age of despair. As a human being, I personally thank him for his notions. Again I thank him on behalf of the entire Muslim Community of the world, for his scholarly, compassionate speeches on real Islam. Go ahead Hazrat! Would be The God Almighty favors you in every aspect in your life!

Salaams I crazy love shaykh Hamza too and yes, he’s a reflection of the prophetic message but our devotion should only be to our ALLAH. Perhaps you are using the word devotion to mean earnest or sincere and if so I stand corrected, and I apologize. With love, respect and honor. Salaams.

At 44:50 Sheikh said something very profound which I had not thought of before. He talked about how Allah says that He will not change the condition of a people unless they change themselves. In other words, changing conditions is upon Him but changing ourselves is upon us. Nowadays we are obsessed with changing our conditions but not ourselves.

I just listened to the opening part of the shaykh and felt an urge to make a few points: I love Hamza Yusuf. I must say before I begin. 1. Colonialism has not ended it has simply changed in its nature. I'm a realist not a fictionalist or a dreamer. 2. Yes agree that the world has changed. But we need to be careful: western domination has forced others to adopt its ideas and was even when they don't always suit others. Now some of its ideas are good much bad. We cannot changed islam willy nilly in order to suit time dispite the fact that certain aspects are open to change and can easily reconile with time! I mean shall we halalify homosexuality just because the west has? Yes living in the West we should respect their ways but our religion condemns such actions and hence they must remain illegal. We can only bend in terms of the punishment for homosexuality because there is and has always been difference and in any case such practice has eisteddfod behind closed doors. 3. International law and the institutions are a reflection of power dynamics in the world. Look at the UN. Is it representative of people or power? 4. Yes agree we do have some order that can be worse for Muslims. Some order is better than none. However please don't forget the anarchy in the middle east was created primarily by America and her allies. They even helped isis come about. So much for order! 5. Slaves sexual slaves. Must be condemned and is forbidden in today's age. Don't forget to mention the sexual crimes the imperial powers have committed to this day. US soldiers raping on so on. Dirty people who use animals, and all sorts to even rape men. We know this for fact with recordings and testomony of good American soldiers. How much was that wasn't recorded we can imagine! In terms of slavery new forms of enslaving people have taken over older forms also such as the imf , world Bank, sanctions a capitalist world order directed by the worst of humanity, and so on. 5. Islam spread by peace but some war also and that's why fiqh books include it. Each era has its own values and conventions . Cannot write history with a basket of roses. Democracy has spread by the bomb and violence. Democracies and so called democracies have been responsible for most of the violence we has seen over the last few centuries from the genecide of jews (note genecide not holocaust) to the atomic bombing of Japan and much much more. Ever thought of that? 6. He is 100 percent right about muslim nostalgia: we need to think about future! * I'm not offended 7. He made genius comment about our condition and Allah

I understand what you mean. But I think one of the deepest flaws in Marxism is its centring of power over form in analysis of world conditions. It is an aspect that renders, what Marxists call materialist history, immaterial. While you’re right about neo-colonialism and neo-imperialism, the aesthetics of power have thoroughly shifted. To define the world in old forms and old perils, as if, almost a metaphysical condition of its social and environmental concerns, is like a religious nostalgia we should we wary of. I don’t think the Sheikh urged complacency about and complicity in world injustices. You’re right to question. Neither Islam, nor democracy spread of roses. Nor have injustice stopped. But there is indeed a new world order. To be ungrateful for peace, respect, and justice (where they do exist, and the aspects in which they exist) is not the Muslim way of life.

Sh Hamza, yr statement about wearing the clothing of the country you live in is a challenge for American Muslim women. It's difficult to dress modestly and like other Americans....when most women dress immodestly. Therefore we must adopt garb of Muslim cultures such as abayas and jilbabs to dress modestly.
@MM-vs3jq7 жыл бұрын
Or have a creative minority that actually create the muslim style of the place, the same chinese, senegalese or arabic create theirs :) based on the same inner principle of modesty and outward adaptation of fabrics, styles, colors etc
@zainasif80827 жыл бұрын
Laura Elizabeth That's what he meant by being creative. You don't have to be like anyone. Create your own style. Mix styles, and create new trends. Start new trends and fashion that does not make you look immodest but is also not different to the society.

Hinduism is reviving also and wants to take the malay back to its polytheistic roots
@user-ww2lc1yo9c7 жыл бұрын
hinduism reviving, hinduism is something that can morph into many forms, that is how it is able to assimilate other ideas into itself and still maintain its "persona". the words hinduism reviving does not fully fit since what we see is development of a new form of what has been shape shifting for 1000s of years now, hinduism does not even have any concept of articles of faith or of conversion or apostasy, it has not clergy, it is a mix of ancient of modern ideas that are shaped into whatever is needed

1:13:42 is one of Sheikh Hamza's fatal mistakes, I can answer your question Sheikh Hamza, God the Almighty knows that there will be people who aren't Muslims in the Muslim community (like Ahlu - thema) and the like, so he God the Almighty says to both sexes to lower their eyes, but not as you reasoned it. If you were well-versed in this issue you wouldn't have claimed what you have claimed now.
@mah52987 жыл бұрын
I love Sheik Hamza, but I do have to agree that he is definitely wrong here. It's things such as these that really show that every person needs to be equipped with knowledge so that we don't make the same slip ups as the sheik even if he is someone we love so much.

If you travel in west africa to south-east muslims area you would clearly see how their culture shaped men-women relationship in social and work interaction. It affect everyone muslims or non-muslims alike. The inner state of people changes a lot depending on how social interaction are shaped by culture. Even though there are people overcame with excessive desire the norm is strongly visible and general. These countries are often deemed safe for travelling for woman who travel alone in our travel books (France) and it's not for no reason.
