1:28 I remember around 2012 to 2014 there was a feature on the WWE App called Second Screen where they would give fans some involvement with the show like voting for which Superstars faced against each other or what stipulation the matches took place in and other stuff, and even watch a Raw or SmackDown match when the show was on commercial break while the match was happening. It was an interesting concept at the time.

Hogan and Bischoff learned the #1 lesson of the internet the hard way. If you give people an opportunity to troll, they will jump on it.

Until seeing this video, I always wondered why we see PPVs on Saturdays now instead of Sundays.

I think the ref cam could be done fairly well these days with the much more advanced tech we have. Could be a way WWE and AEW give another angle for fans who have signed up (Most likely paid extra) for further access.

saturdays for a ppv just makes so much more sense, because you'd have regions that are ahead of NA time so when they used to do Sunday ppvs this was problematic cause if you were in asia/oceania the ppv would air right in the middle of monday morning where people are in the middle of work or school. with it being on saturdays it didnt matter cause by the time it was airing most places were already on the weekends and can watch it from home.

I feel like the post match interviews and a modified version of the TNA ranking system (that doesn't allow for infinite votes) would work really well in todays WWE.

maybe we could bring back Referee cams for Cage Matches, HIAC, Chamber, and War Games with something like a Referee Bodycam

The crazy thing about Tout is that Vine was essentially the same thing but that blew up and actually got popular after Tout. TikTok was originally a Chinese knockoff of Vine but unlike Vine TikTok's popularity didn't die and now it's huge. Turns out all they needed to do was add music to it and it would have blown up and made more money than the WWE itself.

Honestly, I liked the concept of The Electric Chair segment. Sadly, it was done during a time of creative lull and was not the "unscripted" thing we expected. I would love to see an Electric Chair segment under Triple H, and make either fully scripted or fully unscripted, not a mix

They used to have post-match interviews backstage, and that seemed to work fine. Having them ringside seemed wonky because it didn't give any closure to the segment. It would be like if a movie put their post-credit scenes right after the movie. Like, let the thing end, get closure, and then come back with a fresh segment.

@Wrestlelamia Although it's not any new, but WWE seems to have abandoned it's nearly 3 decades old 5 vs 5 Survivor series traditional elimination tag team match, as it's been 2 years since WWE has used this match in Survivor series PLE.

They use to do post and pre match interviews. I personally think that, combined with minimal in-ring promos, is best. Now days, the promos take up more time than matches and it's boring because of that

Post match interviews have been done in the past although they were usually done backstage after another match or 2 a few rare ones happened immediately , examples include Billy Gunn after he lost the Intercontinental title to Chris Benoit and Rocky Maivia (The Rock) when he retained the Intercontinental title against The Sultan (Rikishi) at Wrestlemania 13 .

Also before COVID era started there were exclusive videos during commercial breaks of young participating and the winner would get wwe merch

in 2011, zack ryder showed wwe the power of social media. so instead using already existing platforms. they tried to create their own.

I could see the TNA Ranking system used 1-2×s a year as they could learn the current requested wrestlers and adapt log term story planning for said stars. Even wrestlers that don't rank high can learn from this in order to adapt into something more popular.

Ref’s eye sounds like a good idea, both WWE and AEW need to implement it. Just give them a pair of Ray-Bans or put a Go-Pro on their chest or head and hey Presto.

5:40 A 2 out of 3 falls match makes sense occasionally for a big title match or at the end of a tournament such to determine the #1 contender for the WWE or Heavyweight Title.

The one I find not many remember was when superstars would film promo's on their phones like selfies. I remembered this started happening around 2017 after Corbin and Mis got praised for their small online verbal joust in the build to the match. From then WWE tried to recapture the "in the moment" feel of the videos but it came off very lazy and insincere unlike Mis and Corbin

They should bring back ref cameras. Tech is so much more advanced now they wouldn’t need big silly helmets to operate now. Pride had them as well and didn’t need big helmets even then. Always cool to get that occasional first person view from inside the ring.

The other thing that didn't work about "This Tuesday in Texas" was how soon it took place after Survivor Series. Back in 1991 everyone was used to PPV events happening about once per quarter. Monthly live events didn't become a regular thing until 1995. Well, WWF held "This Tuesday in Texas" only 6 days following Survivor Series. It was a lot to ask fans to buy 2 different PPVs in the span of a week. Back then there was no Monday Night Raw in between and much of televised wrestling consisted of taped matched from what were otherwise house shows. There was no social media back then either so there was no way to effectively build up to the next event after the last one was finished. I remember that they had to spend a good part of the Survivor Series just talking about "This Tuesday", which detracted from the actual wrestling event in Detroit on Thanksgiving Eve.

Yes those helmets threw the match off from what I could see, BUT in kayfab the referee would need it due refer bumps in which.

I remember in the summer of 2019 when it came to having 2 Out Of 3 Falls matches almost every week. But the last WWE event I went to, Carmelo Hayes swept Apollo Crews in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match at NXT Vengeance Day in February 2023 in Charlotte.

When it came to the WWE app showing stuff during the commercial breaks, wouldn't/shouldn't that have really pissed off companies that paid good money to sponsor/advertise with the WWE??? I'm sure that the main reason you see so many shots now with the commercial in one frame and the show continuing in another is so people won't want to miss something by fast forwarding during them.

The referee camera would've been a terrible idea because then you'd be able to hear the wrestlers calling their spots during matches.

With the advancements we've made in the cameras i think it would be awesome for the referee-cam to make a return.

How many people remember when TNA tried to add new rules to the X Division? Back in 2013 they decided, for some reason, that the famously exciting X Division needed to be reworked. So they added new rules and a weight limit. Now all of the X Division title matchs were now triple threats, and whoever got pinned in that triple threat would be eliminated and have to re-earn the right to compete in that triple threat by winning a different triple threat. Also, they brought back the refer-eye cam idea, now branded as the "X Cam" The whole idea sucked and basically turned the fast exciting, anything goes, X Division into something boring and confusing. The rules were canceled less than six months after they were introduced.

The camera on referees would be kind of cool to try again, see it they can't somehow have those glasses with cameras in them made to send a live signal back to the production truck.

They still do post match interviews. It's just on KZfaq instead of TV

IMO at it's core, pro wrestling is about telling stories. What better way to conclude a story then a post match interview as a canvas to allow one of the wrestlers to give a nice conclusion or epilogue to the match itself? I'd say McMahon was a fool to abandon the idea just because he has a personal hate for it, completely ignoring the opportunity for it to be good for business.

We need to start a petition or movement to bring back a cyber Sunday style p.l.e.! #WeWantCyber

I loved Sunday ppvs... miss them. It makes no sense either as people are more likely to go out to eat, movies, parties etc. on Saturdays.

With today's technology, the ref cam could easily be brought back without the ref looking like a goof. I rather like the idea of seeing the match during commercials on the app, especially since Raw has so many damn commercials. Post match interviews should be brought back. Wrestlers could just cut little 30 second post match promos to further the stories and it wouldn't really be too invasive.

The 3rd Person Perspective - AEW made the matches feel more in your face with this turnbuckle camera but gradually AEW phased it out.
