Trick Williams as NXT North American Champion should be added too. At 2023’s No Mercy in Bakersfield, California, Williams defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the title which featured Dragon Lee as the guest referee. However, Williams had NO successful title defenses after that because just three days later on NXT, Williams would lose the title back to Mysterio at NXT thanks to Judgement Day interference.

I will always be baffled by why Jack Swagger was chosen over Christian as the Money in the Bank winner at WM26. Swagger was not ready and kicked off a domino effect of the World Heavyweight Championship losing prestige. Imagine a world where Christian came out and cashed in on Jericho after his match with Edge at Wrestlemania... What a missed opportunity.

In 2011 the Miz and John Cena won the tag titles off Justin Gabriel and Health Slater and than immediately lost it back to them ending reign after 9 minutes. Making it the shortest tag title reign in WWE history.

Cena vs Batista had such a great build going into Wrestlemania 26, with a pretty weak payoff in the actual match. Similar to Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho going into Wrestlemania 33.

Hogan has stated that he didn't come up with the idea of him going over on Yokozuna. Bruce Prichard has also stated in multiple interviews that it was Vince who decided on Hogan not because of the history of a face going over in the end, because the whole event wasn't going over as well as Vince had hoped and in desperation to save the event sent Hogan out thinking at least the fans would go home happy.

I'm still unhappy that Batista never got a lengthy reign as WWE champion. Granted his first win was scuppered by an injury and his second one was only a couple of months before he was going to leave to pursue an acting career, but I personally would have loved for Batista to have a WWE championship reign similar to his reigns as World Heavyweight champion.

1988: Andre the Giant 1999: Vince McMahon Both made no title defenses. Andre's reign, like Yokozuna's, lasted only minutes as he sold the WWF Championship to Ted DiBiase. Jack Tunney ruled that DiBiase was never champion and that Andre had vacated it.

There is no point for making a top-10 list of wrestler, who had one of their title reigns with zero defence, since vast majority of them had another title reign, throughout which they had defended their title over and over again! It's much more interesting to check out a top-10 list of wrestlers, who NEVER had a any title reigns in their entire careers, where they would have defended it at least once, this kind of list would be much more exclusive...

Rey has been involved in some of the best stories and feuds, but clearly wwe has never seen him as a reigning champion. Seems like they only give it to him to cap off a great story.
