Full-grain leather sport gloves for warm-weather riding. That is what the Alpinestars SP Air Gloves provide. Constructed of supple full-grain leather that is both durable and comfortable, the SP Air Gloves also utilize strategically-placed 3D mesh inserts that work to ensure that ample amounts of air circulate throughout. With a design and feature set that has been taken from Astars’ high-end race gloves, the SP Air is a gauntlet glove built for sporty riders who like to roll on the throttle with vigor. Additional features include ergonomically-injected TPU palm sliders, TPU knuckle protectors, and Alpinestars’ patented finger bridge between the pinky and ring fingers.

I owned a pair, M size. They did well in a low side crash on track day. Yet I had to replace them.

Looking for a new summer glove. I'm stuck between the Rev'it Sand 3 and Alpinestars SP Air. Which one is better in terms of protection/ventilation?

A summer gauntlet sounds like a great idea, I currently use my GP-X for summer, the perforation is quite sufficient, but I rarely ride during the day in summer so it could get hot. But I think they need to improve this glove a bit, like you pointed out on the fingers, and the gauntlet part doesn't seem that protective to me, it's going to be hot under there either way so might as well make it beefier but maybe with perforation or air channels like the knuckles. It's the same price as the GP-X I see. What other gloves are in this new category?

Uh oh. A little worried to hear that Alpinestars has gone and messed with their sizing. For my entire riding life, Alpinestars gloves have consistently fit me better than any other brand. I've worn a XXL in every unlined Alpinestars glove (SP1, GP Plus) and XXXL in all of their lined gloves (Apex Drystar, Storm Rider Gore-tex). Would you recommend going down to a XL for the SP Air? Thanks!

+Joseph Lucente There's a chance XL might be too small, but it's still worth trying XL on if you can. If you're within the US, you may want to consider ordering both XL and 2XL then return the pair that doesn't fit. -DrewZilla

I didn t have much luck with the durability of mesh gloves (smx-2 air carbon). Any suggestion of full gauntlet gloves with similar airflow made in perf leather only? (My a* archer are just a bit too hot for summer use.)

+Anto Pc The Held Airstream II, Klim Induction Long, Alpinestars SP Air, and Spidi TX-1 Gloves offer the most amount of perforated leather, but they all still have a bit of textile. My hand measurements are 21.3-21.5 do you recommend going with medium or large?

Which is better these or the Cortech Impulse RR gloves?

The Cortech Gloves have a bit more reinforcement, but the SP Air Gloves have slightly better construction and better ventilation. Personally, I like the hard palm slider on the SP-Air. I have landed on my palms every time I have gone down and that would be an advantage over the SP-8s. -TeamZilla Chris

Sp8 v2 vs Sp air which one ia better and why? (For Spring, Summer)

They're very similar, but the SP Air flows more air. So if you want the most airflow possible, go with the SP Air. If you prefer a glove with more protection, or that's slightly better in cool weather, go with the SP8 v2. -Kraus-e

It really comes down to whether you want summer mesh gloves or if you want waterproof gloves. Both have great protection, so for hot weather, it's the SP Air Gloves.
