Now, with that out of the way, let's focus on the good. You overall succeeded where JJ and Kasdan failed in making TFA an adventure film akin to Indiana Jones/ National treasure. Sam, Kira, and Han all had good chemistry. And the idea of the tomb raiding through Jedi temples was great. I also think you did a fantastic job of implementing the new canon stuff, like why Ben turned to the dark side. The conversation between Sam and Ben was perfect. And the Han discussion was great as well. I also enjoyed how you introduced Maz Kanata in this being a pirate queen who helped Luke. It makes sense that she would have Anakin's lightsaber given her history of collecting trinkets. Still, I do think you could have worked in an explanation, like Luke giving her the saber. Unless you plan to touch on that in episode eight. The best change you made was Han's funeral and Luke showing up. That was desperately missing from TFA and it is insulting how none of the ST ever did this. I also enjoyed Chewie, tearing into Luke for abandoning them. It makes sense and I enjoyed Luke's regret. Finally, I liked how you included Lando here briefly. Overall, I think where it stands you managed to craft a solid adventure movie in the vein of Indiana Jones/ Treasure planet. And while I did have my criticisms, they weren't enough to deter my enjoyment of the movie. I'd give your movie a solid 7.5-8/10. A good homage, start to a hopefully better trilogy than what we got.

Man, that closing scene for Han would have been a tear jerker!! What a missed opportunity, Abrams!! Loved how you got Kira to become in tune with the Force, making her look graceful in combat. That would have been wonderful to see and root her for. 😊👍 Also, having Chewie going all Hulk Smash on the Stormtroopers. That too would have been awesome. He was so underutilised. Now, what I do believe this Trilogy needs is Mon Mothma and Wedge Antilles. Maybe later in the Trilogy?! 😉 Keep up the good work, mate.

Overall, I enjoyed your take on rewriting TFA. But it does have some issues. I'll start with the bad first before I post about the good separately. The first problem I have is that Kira's display of the Force. While I'm fine with the Force shockwave, I think her using Force push against a guard on Dantoine is too much. A smarter fix for this would be to have her try to experiment. Like maybe, she and R2 need to find a way to distract the guard and she's stuck on how to do it until the idea comes to attempt using the Force. Maybe to move a droid, or heck, knock out the guy's weapon so as to distract him enough for her to knock it out? Another moderate nitpick I have is that we really do not learn much about the galaxy and the New Republic. To be fair, I'm sure you could add this into Episode eight, but maybe a remark from Leia about the New Republic being a bunch of fools, namely organizing their naval fleets in a clustered manner would at the very least highlight their stupidity. Also, maybe we could see her talking to the Supreme Chancellor and advising him to organize the fleet and not take the FO lightly only for him to scoff at her. Kira's victory against Kylo Ren is still a big stretch. While I understand you emphasized her being calmer and Kylo's mental state, I think her victory while a lot better is annoying. Now, IF you are going to have Kylo beat her next time, I can overlook this. But keep in mind, one of the biggest criticisms of TFA and where the Mary Sue gripes really showcased themselves. But again, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt assuming this is leading somewhere with episode eight. The final qualm I have is that Starkiller as a superweapon still does not make sense. Draining a star would effectively kill a planet given the lack of light. I think a simple fix would be that it uses another power source. Perhaps, a kyber crystal and is augmented by geothermal power? That way when the Resistance takes it out, it is easier to believe that the Volcano would erupt. Overall, do not take these as I hated the movie. Far from it. I'm just trying to be constructive. Next post, I'll focus on the good elements and give you my score.

Truly amazing once again and way better than what we got. Amazing job. One thing I would have added and this is what I would have done personally was in the end have Luke introduce Kira to sors bandeam (the youngling from revenge of the sith who asks anakin what are they going to do revealing he survived vaders purge in this purposed rewrite) who I would have be played by Kevin conroy since I think it would have been awesome to see Kevin conroy play a Star Wars character while he was still alive. Kevin has done live action performances in the past even play a live action Bruce Wayne, so I would have included him in this new Star Wars trilogy. Heck I even did some calculations and if sors bandeam was still alive by the time the force awakens began he would have been almost the same age Kevin was in 2015 so it could work, but that’s just me. It’s still amazing as it is.

I like your vision. It's creative and gives the characters more depth and a better arc, particularly Luke. It's also nice to see Lando in the first film of the trilogy. It was disappointing that we didn't get to see him until the last film and we didn't see much of him then either.

Excellent rewrite for Force Awakens!! I was led by the hype of the original trailer and sorely disappointed with it. Knowing your knowledge of story and integrating working formulas from the greats, this was an excellent rewrite! Love the addition of Han’s son from original concept, the rewrite and explanation or Rey as Kira, and especially the slow entrance/reveal of Luke to the story. I would have lost my mind if I saw your vision on the big screen! Keep it up!!

Nice that you add in Lando Calrissian at the end of your rewrite to attend Han Solo's funreal because they were close friends and it makes more sense that it happened in this rewrite of yours. Bravo!

In a few scenes in between you could have Kira learning experimenting with the force and the kyber crystal learning telekinesis (Force pull, push etc.)

Love how you gave Chewie more to do here! (Both in supporting Kira, and in showing his rage at both the stormtroopers & Luke.) Only 2 issues I have here: 1) Lando only showing up for a brief scene at the funeral near the very end seems like a waste of his character (at least, for the sake of bringing his actor back to the franchise). Maybe if earlier scenes show him working with Leia in the Resistance (& even better, if he plays a larger role in the sequels), this wouldn’t be so bad. 2) How does Luke get back from exile? I’d presume he used his old X-Wing (or just used a projection, like in TLJ), but we don’t really get an explicit answer; plus now his ride is stuck with the Resistance, and if the Falcon has to leave somewhere while he’s still training Kira, they won’t be able to go anywhere or help anyone, even if they wanted to.

I love your version of Kira more. Nice rewrite. I wish the battle between Kylo and Kira could have been equal though and the ground splitting between them, but otherwise, it was great!

Man, this was amazing. I had seriously joy in just hearing your script and approach to this episode. Congrats! Really! The only think I would change here would be Kira in this final act. I dont think she should be that strong in the force already, like force pushing people away and all of that. In the end, I would think that would be better if Sam (which i would call Jason, btw. i think its a better name, and specially if you think about Jared Padalecki for the role, so people dont get confuses because of Sam Winchester) and Kira to fight Kylo togheter. Jason would not take the lightsaber from Kira, he would immediatly shoot him several times, Kylo deflects the shots and freezes Jason with the force, while Kira attacks him with the saber. He easily parry her, use his saber guard to injure her arm and toss her away with the force. Jason breaks free from the force freeze and tackles him, punching him in the face. But them Kylo counters it, giving him 2 headbutts, trowing him away and them force choking and lifting Jason in the air. He force pulls his lightsaber, igniting it towards Jason. "I bet you would love to join him even in death, dont you?" Jason would grasply reply "you're a monster". Kylo would be ready to kill his brother too, but Kira would them jump fearously, slashing her lightsaber towards Kylo. He would release Jason and clashes with her. "I sense the force in you, strongly. I can teach you." Then we would have the same moment of TFW about her charging up. She would break free from the clash, forcing Kylo away, while Jason would stand up. They would look at each other, bravely "Ready?" And then would attack togheter. And they both would prove to be too much for the injured Kylo. Jason would find and opening, shooting him in the leg, for Kira to injure his shoulder and then slice his face. Everything would go the same from there. I still think its too forced to make Rey/Kira win Kylo at this point. He is the offspring of the chosen one, trained by Luke since he was a kid and now a dark side user. Doesnt matter how you put it, her winning alone is like if Luke defeated Vader in A New Hope. This way Rey/Kira completes her arc and still reforces her connection with her new family. Jason not being injured also does not really matter, the audience is already shocked with Han death. And it does not change anything to the story, since Jason is not force sensitive, so he would not go with Luke. Anyway, thanks for this great experience, much better than the movie we got and that made me really happy. I'll be watching the next ones with high hopes.

Bravo! Your rewrite improves the story 1000%. Disney’s version throws out good storytelling in favor of their socialist agenda and “our way is better” approach to fan service. I’m sick of superhero remakes, but this sequel trilogy is in desperate need of one.

This is good. One criticism, I think that Chewbacca ripping off so many arms would be pretty brutal. Him throwing people around and shooting them makes sense, even throwing soldiers into an abyss, but ripping off limbs is brutal fir a "good guy".

Man, this is an excellent rewrite of TFA. Although I enjoyed the movie, its lack of originality was extremely annoying. You definitely fixed that and gave more depth to the Star Wars universe. I also like the way you altered the First Order HQ and had Starkiller destroy an enemy fleet as opposed to a planet. I LOVE the fact that you're turning Kylo Ren's true identity into a massive reveal, it adds a whole new weight to the scenes where he reveals his true face. The dynamic the Falcon crew shares is really interesting and is probably my favorite part of all of this. I do feel like that there should be more emphasis on the abnormality of Kira's powers. She's strong in the force, but a bit too strong. Characters should comment on it so that its clear to the audience that her power level isn't normal. I also have a few questions. Without giving too much away, what are your plans with Snoke? Is he going to have a bigger role than he did in the original Sequel Trilogy? Does he have a connection to a previous character? Is he a returning character or a new one? While the Snoke theories did get exhausting after a while, much more could have been done with such a mysterious character. There's also other things. Is the First Order going to be the main threat throughout your version, or is there something bigger, something more menacing in the shadows? Overall, this is a great rewrite and I'm really excited to see what you do with the other two movies! I really hope you gain more attention, because this is some great stuff.

I wasn't sure about replacing Finn since he was the one unique idea this movie had but Sam works in the role given. Something else you could do with the Starkiller is have the climax be about stopping it from firing, and the heroes aren't fast enough. While the scene of it firing is horrifying it still has the issue of blowing up a location the audience has no attachment to.

This is a great rewrite! I love that Rey/Kira finally got an arc and that Han could act like a real mentor to her. Also the way Luke shows up in your version is SO much better! I didn't like 'The Force Awakens' back then, but I can totally see myself enjoying this version of the movie^^ The only character I'd miss would be Finn (even though I think they didn't use his character to even half of his potential in the original)

I know this is late But imagine what the teaser trailer would look like if the rewrite happens in real life I think the teaser would go the same Except jakku is replaced with endor and we open on a grassy landscape on endor with the debris of the death star 2 in the background Snoke (narrating): past being on awakening, have you felt it? We then see Sam solo (played by jared padalecki) stand up sweating bullets looking aroud his surroundings. We then see R2 D2 take bb8's place in the teaser, moving fast while beeping. We then see kira riding her speeder bike in endor, going to niima outpost. We then see a x wing pilot (oscar isaac can just be a cameo in the movie) flying through the water. Snoke (narrating): the dark side... Kylo ren would then have his scene except instead of illum he would be in the forest of dantooine at starkiller base and activate his lightsaber. Snoke(narrating): and the light... We then see the falcon fly just like in the teaser

I like this version of the Force Awaken’s more then the original. Personally, I have 2 version’s of rewrite’s of the Sequel Trilogy but the 2nd 1 is more like how’d I actually write it officially. It’s kind of a mix of both George’s script and Disney’s script but more like Disney’s script. The new Jedi are more involved, Skylar (Poe but the son Han of Leia) and later Kylo Ren. Taryn, an ex Jedi Padawan who wanted to live by looking out for herself but like your version learn’s to become more selfless and become’s a Jedi Knight. The Balance of the Force would’ve been talked about in the 2nd film. Snoke’s backstory would’ve actually been explored.

A happy that the Planets didn't get destroyed

As someone who is actually I really enjoyed the sequel trilogy even I have to admit that there was so much lost potential with this trilogy

The only problem I have is that the fight with Kira and kylo is basically the same, kylo should have also easily defeated Rey in the original, I think Kira should be able to hold her ground, but end up losing and escaping. I understand kylo was severely injured and in a rage, but that usually powers the sith. If you have kylo beat her later in episode 8 and 9 and can let it go, but I think Kira should slip up, and run in that fight.

She's still much more powerful than she should be at this point. She doesn't even have practice let alone a teacher and yet she was able to dominate Kylo Ren, who had been training for over a decade beneath both Luke and Snoke.

The smallest changes go a long way

I’m loving this, but I must correct you in a detail: the Knights of Ren were not Luke’s apprentices, they were an order of force sensitives that were around during the Empire era, it’s shown in the comics. When Ben Solo left the order, he killed their leader (who was named Ren, who also used a lightsaber, but just him) and became their leader. Also, using a lightsaber is definitely easier than using force abilities that you called basic, the younglings themselves train with them.

Very good I always felt look would have felt Han die or even when the planets were blown up if so he couid have gone to stay killer and catch’s the lite saber instead of Rey and epic fight with kylo snd ben but you’re version is really good thanks

What about adding Boba Fett, Wedge Antilles and Thrawn ? Plus why didn't Lando have an active role earlier ? Plus let's add more lightsaber colors like cyan, purple and yellow ?

i absolutely love this, but there is one thing i see wrong with the plot. kiera's powers progress too quickly without any training whatsoever and the previous display of great power being an accidental burst of power, i think her lightsaber fight with kylo should've resembled the one from the original film, keeping good and exciting choreography but showing that rey isn't confident in what she is doing

I'm surprised that you altered Rays personality but I think I like it better here a most of the price that you swapped out the character of Finn for Ben's brother and the story is a lot better in lot more original.

So I really enjoyed this until we get to kira. You sort of did the same Mary Sue thing they did with Rey in the sequels. How does she know how to force push or pull items to her? How did she know how to weird a lightsaber? These things need to be trained. Otherwise well done

Sam or Jaina solo would have been much more interesting than where they left Finn. However, I do know they didnt want a pure white main cast and I think this could have been addressed without being an actual son but someone else close to Han and Ben but not a true brother.

I was hoping you'd do the same movie as the force awakens but just with Luke catching the lightsaber instead of Rey it would helped the story so much.

While I am in agreement with a lot of the other commentors that Rey still feels like a Mary Sue in this version. I will give you the benefit of a doubt and wait until you release your Last Jedi rewrite. I appreciate you giving Han a proper funeral, which is something I felt was missing in the original film. But even then, you did one thing in your rewrite that impressed me in it's originality but also consistency with the OT. Secondly and most importantly, having Luke come back to Leia, instead of Rey finding him. And having Leia being the one to convince to Luke to come back and join the fight. And having Chewbacca call out on Luke for being in hiding when Han and Chewie needed him the most. You managed to keep the concept of Luke hiding away because of his regrets but at the same time, not making him a cranky old man who would rather die than help his friends. But rather a flawed hero, who has to deal with his own personal grievances but will always be willing to fight the good fight. While I am still of the opinion that the Luke we know based on the OT, would never go into hiding/abandon his friends and family in the first place. You managed to find a balance between what was in TLJ, and the OT. I commend you, and look forward to seeing how you will expand on his character going forward. (hopefully being consistent with the Luke we know :D)

This is great. Only thing that seems off to me is all the force feats Rey(Kira) is able to do. Pushing, pulling, stuff like that, all without any training with the Force. Still ten times better than original script tho.

C'mon man, you were doing so good but at the finale instead of bring Luke to the final fight or doing something else you did the same Mary sue treatment to kira by having her never touch a lights aver and just find out that she is force sensitive and then beating a trained sith with far more advantage than rey did. Great rewrite my only problem is you still keep Rey as a Mary Sue. If the force guided you way you wrote it then Anakin would never have lost a battle him being the most powerful force user ever followed by Luke. the way George set up the force you cant become a master just by closing your eyes and beat someone who is trained not only by Luke but by Snoke the way you and Disney had Rey beat Kylo. I would have wrote while they fight Rey did well but was loosing when the ground suddenly saves her by splitting apart creating a large gap maybe Luke sensed the danger now being aware of hans death orLike it happen in the movie maybe the force setting them apart for balance. Or even Luke showing up and fighting them all off. In any case Rey is untrained and should never have even came close to beating someone like Kylo.

Oh nice job. You made Rey into a fucking Mary Sue just like the Disney trilogy. That's one of the things that people including myself hated most about the Disney trilogy, then when you rewrite it, you make Rey into a Mary Sue again. You better have given Rey an arc for the Last Jedi.
