2 years has passed and I still come back to watch this amazing video. Now that your sequel trilogy is done, I am loving this even more. Btw, I had two questions. Imagine if disney studio went to make this script back in 2015 but the producer wanted three changes in your script: 1) Add Grand Admiral Thrawn or a character similar to him with same abilities and motivation as the main villain. 2) the protagonist being a female Skywalker (Luke's daughter) and a well trained Jedi at the very beginning without any mystery to them. I would like to know how these changes would affect your script and the entire world of your sequel trilogy and how would u handle them.

Whoa. This is really good. Basically you’ve done what I expected TFA to be. A treasure planet/ Indiana Jones Macguffin hunt. That said I do have a few nitpicks. Kira’s force power is cool but I do think you could have set that up more. I get that the Falcon thing does that but maybe a line of dialogue about how she remarked that the Force could move mountains or something like that would have worked. Other than that I have no gripes. Sam Solo is a great idea. I love having two siblings one who is force sensitive and one who isn’t.

Dude Ive love this version of the Force Awakens. It has an original story, personalities, great writing, and Kera (Rey) is not a Mary sue and her having force powers is realistic something the original sequels didn't have. I wish Kylo was not related to Han but its still good and also it has adventure which not just the sequels but the other trilogy lacked. Ill watch PT2 tomorrow hope is good like PT1 keep it up.

Amazing work, man! My only nitpick is that in Return of the Jedi, Han shows his true selflessness and completes his arc of becoming a pirate to a war hero. And to strip him if that and make him return to his normal self almost takes away from his character. That said, this was much better the original TFA! See, it's stuff like this that shows that it's not impossible to make good Star Wars content nowadays. Two modern movies which exemplify this quality especially well are John Carter (2012) and Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010).

Feel like you should have Kira be more abrasive towards the solo group, just to show that she isn't good with others, and gives her more room to grow. Maybe she only stays because of the star map, and because Sam supports Kira staying. Other than that, good job my dude

It's a good rewrite. My main suggestion to make it BETTER is to get rid of everything that reminds us of the Disney trilogy. For instance...make Han and Leia HAPPILY MARRIED. No characters named "Rey", "Finn" or "Poe"...NO "Snoke"...NO "missing Luke Skywalker"...etc. etc.

Also I don’t you if you intended this but having Jared playing Sam Solo is funny when you consider he plays Sam Winchester in Supernatural.

I like the parallel between Han Solo’s introduction in this version and Marion Ravenwood’s in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Iunno if it was intentional, but it’s a nice lil connection

As a fan of Star Wars and really hated the sequel trilogy this is awesome...and also kinda sad really. How regular people on KZfaq with barely any budget and time can come with an actual original story, interesting characters and show respect to the franchise better than a multi-billion dollar company. People like u should be working the storyboard of Lucasfilm. With so many people so creative, I do hope we get a new franchise soon.

Each Star Wars movie should have their own unique feel, while still being apart of a cohesive narrative. The Prequels and Original Trilogy got this perfectly. The Sequels tried to replicate previous films, instead of trying to do their own thing while naturally progressing and concluding the story of the Star Wars Saga. (I’m never calling it the “Skywalker Saga”). Also, despite how much I like your rewrites, the Jedi not at least being slightly repopulated 30 years after the movie literally called RETURN of the Jedi makes no sense to me. There wouldn’t be a lot of them. At most 200, maybe 300 or even 400. Most of them are knights, others are padawans. There are some masters, and one grandmaster, that being Luke himself. Now, Luke wouldn’t train all of these jedi by himself. The first batch of masters and knights are pre-existing force users, either Order 66 survivors or otherwise. They’d help Luke on training the new generation of Jedi. Luke would have his main temple be trashed by Ben and have the survivors be turned to the dark side, forming the Knights of Ren. But that would be only one camp, there would still be others on other worlds. Imagine the climax of Episode 9, Jedi Knights leading New Republic forces against the Sith, First Order and the Vong in an epic, Return of the King style final battle for the ultimate fate of the Galaxy. This is just one idea of mine. Even still, I really love your rewrites of Episode 7-9.

Only real complaints I have are the lack of Finn and the sudden introduction of Luke at the end, I think it would have been better for Kira to come to him.

I am working on my own Skywalker Saga rewrite and this is really helping. Also I am trying to figure out what to name episode 8 and 9. For episode 8 I have Fall of the republic and The Rise of Darkness, Risen From The Ashes and Ashes of The Empire. For episode 9 I have The Last Spark, The Last Light, The Last Skywalker, The Final Order, The Quest For Peace and Balance of the force. Which one should I use? What other titles could I use? Love your take. I myself always thought that Luke and Ahsoka should have had a small but established jedi school as the opening of ep7. Snoke being an up n coming “Darth”, and kind of like a mosquito in Luke/Ahsoka’s students ears. Like Palpatine in the prequels.

I am glad to see your making another video. As a big fan of your Transformers rewrite. In general I am happy to see you aren't slowing down. However as a hardcore classic Expanded Universe fan. I do feel compelled to ask did you ever consider incorporating characters/backstories/lore like Jacen, Jaina, or Anakin solo into your rewrite instead of Kira and Sam Solo? Like you said, "This is Star Wars, you can't just throw out characters, creatures, and lore that have been around for decades and actually hold meaning to a lot of fans." I would assume that philosophy extends to Star Wars Legends lore as well. Especially the Legacy of the Force books which heavily involves the Solo family. Still I don't blame you if you didn't feel comfortable doing a rewrite based more on classic Legends storylines, since it would require A LOT of research and even more work to find a way to incorporate their backstories in a streamlined fashion. If I could make one suggestion though, I don't know if you plan to add this in a later video. But please don't make Luke a depressed old man like he was in the Last Jedi. Even if you did provide new explanations on why he would go into exile, abandon his family and friends, instead of actively finding a way to save his nephew Ben Solo. Like how he went out of his way to redeem Vader in Return of the Jedi. Maybe he's going into exile in search of knowledge for a way to defeat Snoke to free Ben from his thrall. And Han simply thinks Luke became depressed and went into exile because of his own skeptical nature and or possibly blaming Luke for Ben's fall to the dark side. Just a thought BTW- Jared Padalecki playing Han's son is an awesome suggestion. Hope to see your rewrite of Transformers 2 soon and best of luck with part 2 of your Force Awakens rewrite.

For me, it's hard to blame The Force Awakens for being derivative. It's just easier to notice it because the original Star Wars helped further popularize the hero's journey narrative, which has since become a go-to for these kind of movies because of how well it works. The desert planet and the bigger death star made it more noticeable though. Honestly I think the old EU was better.

Hey I have an idea for BB-8. R2D2’s body was destroyed and only his memory file was saved, and Leia or Sam (you may choose who) places his memories in a brand new suit that is faster and has an easier time keeping up with others (like how Kira and Sam were running from the first order in the desert). So basically, BB-8 is really a redesigned R2D2. P.S. sorry if you feel like I’m stalking you, I have no intention of coming off like that. I just want to bring up topics in different videos.

While rewatching this I thought of this that could fix also fix a prequel plot hole with r2s thrusters. In which when After Kira repairs r2 Sam complaints her work even saying how she repaired r2 old thrusters that have been broken his mother owned him.

Speaking of Sam Solo, one problem I have about Star Wars Legends, which is kind of a nitpick, is that all three Solo Children have Force abilities. While that is not bad, I think one of them not being Force sensitive could create a group dynamic between them, where Jaina and Jacen are the ones who can use telekinetic abilities, mind control others, and and carry magical glowing swords, Anakin is the one who has to rely on his Blaster and Smuggler skills, giving them something to play off each other. Again, it’s not a bad thing they are all Jedi, I just think there could have been a more interesting dynamic. Like that idea?

I remember seeing someone use a stock photo of Cal Kestis (granted as another character to help visualize them) and I’ve wanted to see a Cal in one of these ever since. Granted within reason. Wouldn’t make sense for him to show up in TFA lol

6:00 dude I’m not even going to watch the rest of this before I say, YES, this is going to be good. The sequel trilogy NEEDED politics. Say what you will about the prequels, the reason they are coherent is mostly due to the fact that we actually understand the inner workings of most of the factions involved. We SEE how Palestine slithers his way into power and builds his army and manipulates anakin for his own gain. Even in the original trilogy, while it certainly isn’t as heavy about it (although, there isn’t really much of a “government” or anything to focus on - it’s all military for the most part) they still checked in on what tf the rebels as a group were up to and what their goals were and what they wanted.
