Filipino speak Spanish because our country has been colonised by Spanish for 333 yrs and then American came to replace Spanish and stayed for 48 years but, before American our second language used to be Spanish ( we still speak Spanish in one area of our province they speak pure chavacano which is Spanish) but, now our country are the 3rd largest English speaking country in the world because of American and English became our second language and then Spanish became our 3rd language or if you noticed when we speak tagalog you could hear that it was mixed with Spanish words / language.
