The DC Council is ununited about what should replace the 60 year old stadium and with all the controversey surrounding Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders, the last thing they want to do is to handover the priceless site to a billionare.

Snyder’s wife is 50% owner, so he’ll sell to her and the family will continue to own the team. Outside of the other league owners ousting him…it ain’t gonna happen. Folks, you really need to get over the fact that Teflon Dan is here to stay. If it does happen, let’s focus on the team until then. What a fantastic piece. For this franchise to turn around, you hit it all on the head. Dan Snyder had been the cancer of this team for decades. He HAS to go. The team needs to win. Okay your hearts out! Give the people something to believe in. And if we get RFK back? Oh man… talk about nostalgia. Long time fan who used to be a season ticket holder, gave them up for multiple reasons. One being I cannot stand fed ex. So I decided I would go to an away game every year, hangout/check out the city for a long weekend. Last year I went to Vegas. Stadium was awesome, they should do something similar. Of all the stadiums I’ve been too I’ve enjoyed it the most. Question as to where will be an obvious issue

How much more shame and negative light on the NFL shield does Dan have to project before the other franchise owners say, "enough?" What owner could not thrive in the DMV market? Baltimore has literally nothing to offer a fan experience, Washington has virtually everything. Yet Dan Snyder has reduced his fan base from 51% identified fans, to 21% identified fans. Where does that happen? NFL owners, get rid of this guy, you're 20 years behind. There's plenty of good, fresh money out there that can build up this market, restore dignity to the franchise, and generate money for both the community and the league.

I think as long as Dan Snyder is there he is not going to get a stadium deal with any of the people within DC Maryland or Virginia. He might end up having to take the franchise and go far away to somewhere that’s willing to pay money.

I agree with you as a Washington Commander’s fan from the state of Delaware with only one actual venue for NASCAR [besides the point] I can agree that the RFK Stadium should be the new construction site of the commanders. As having a stadium in your state/city it gives people more of a good feeling to have an updated site and hopefully an updated head of the Commanders. I would like to see the unused parking lot to the left as hospitality a training field. I myself am working to design a future stadium render just for RFK for fun but I would love to see this team and the D.C. area have a nice looking updates facility

Redeveloping the RFK campus would be a huge loss for the federal government. It would be better suited for the benefit of the Federal government and its elected officials and employees; not to mention the over-all cities need for public parks and public recreation facilities.

I am a Washingtonian born and raise I have seen RFK Stadium all my life I 100% agree that the Washington football team needs a new owner and a new stadium in Washington DC at the site of the old RFK Stadium. Also DC born, I go back to the old Griffith Stadium days, watching primarily the Senators, but enjoyed many Redskin games at RFK. Agree that’s the ideal place for a new stadium. And Metro is only a short walk away. That said, I’m not holding my breath, as the Mayor won’t do squat to help the franchise.

I totally agree with your last point. Build the new stadium as a retro style stadium resembling RFK and keep the name. At least that would serve as a link to the past. Everything else has been erased. Whatever they build, they need to make it so the fans are close to the field so that if they are ever able to regenerate a loyal fan base, the stadium would be conducive to actually providing a home-field advantage again.

Winning fixes everything. They put a winner on the field it’s a whole lot more then 20%- don’t buy that figure. The name change is what it is, didn’t want it either but time to move on, it’s a mascot. Once the season starts it will be about football, within no time the name is mainstream.

Maybe we need everything new. Maybe a New stadium in DC where it belongs even if its in the old spot, New owners, New coaches, New quarterbacks, New name, New colors, New mascot, New fight song, and New whatever else I didn't think of. Just Starr over fresh on every aspect in order to receive new results. Nevertheless the one thing that has to be is rebuilding that stadium in DC where it belongs and this time as a dome. Why let all that money go to Maryland or Virginia when it's a DC team? It's absurd in my opinion.

Grew up in the Washington area and attended many Redskin's games at RFK in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. I'm a BIG Redskins fan (even though they haven't had winning team in a while and I now live all the way across the country) with decades of memorabilia and even bought my first car from Chris Hanburger Ford (55). Once the idiot... I mean owner, caved to the woke crowd, I'm no longer a Washington supporter (I still love the Redskins, hogs and smurfs). I still have the Redskins' fight song on a 45 I bought at one of the games. Almost a century of tradition flushed down the toilet. I can only sigh a sigh of remorse and wish the best for Washington's new Bull S. team. My team, like the dinosaurs, no longer exists.

The REDSKINS have always been one of my favorite teams aside from the Packers. I remember my Dad, who BTW was a full blooded Chippewa Indian, he got me a Starter Redskins Jacket. The ones that were down filled and were fairly expensive. Why the SJW's felt the need to change the name is beyond me. I'm also a Chippewa Indian and I loved the Redskins look, and the logo. I find it more offensive that people wanted to bury the logo. But social media, social justice, have destroyed the world. Adding fuel to a fire that THEY AND THE MEDIA CREATED!

I think the NFL will take the team from Snyder and find a owner who won't embarrass the league. This team, it's staff and its fans deserve that. Snyder can find another toy to play with that won't hurt others

Public money should not be the driving force behind a new stadium. Why don't the owners and league pony up more cash instead of the tax payers?

Because citizens who grandstand and act like they have higher ground about not paying taxes for it have no issue with it when those taxes are aimed at tourists. With few and only minor partial exceptions when it is, public funds from stadiums come from hotel and car rental taxes now. When it's proposed like that and put to a vote citizens suddenly have no problem with it and usually overwhelmingly vote yes. It's also a big reason places like Oakland can't keep teams. They have no hotels(you don't stay in Oakland on a trip to the Bay Area) The only city ever to vote that down was San Diego so they're the only ones with any moral high ground about that to me. I'm pretty sure put to a vote anywhere in the DC area they'll clap like seals and vote 60-70% yes if you just said out of staters will pay for it

John Riggins never played for the "Commanders" and The Commanders have 0 to 0 life time win lose record! The Washington Redskins were the last NFL team along with their greatest rival The Dallas cowboys which they blow out 37-10 culminating the end of an era.

I'm from Virginia and would love to see my home state get a team. And it makes sense because the population center of the Metro Area is now Fairfax County, which now has more than twice the population of DC. That being said, Woodbridge is a terrible spot (Arlington would be ideal but it's already crowded) and I don't want my taxpayer dollars to go to Dan Snyder
